The tire includes a tread that has a contact face of a width TW and is provided with a groove of a depth D. The tread has a center region and a pair of shoulder regions. The shoulder regions each have a shoulder rubber layer of a thickness is made of a shoulder rubber composition. A shear storage modulus G′ of the shoulder rubber composition is less than or equal to 1.0 MPa. The tire also has a cap ply whose cable extends generally in circumferential orientation and is positioned radially inbetween the tread and the ply at least in a region corresponding to the shoulder regions of the tread and the ply. A force F.sub.5% of the cap ply is greater than 900 N per 10 mm of a cap ply width under 5% strain in a direction cable of the cap ply is extending.

Provided is a pneumatic tire. A belt cover layer made of an organic fiber cord spirally wound along the tire circumferential direction is provided on the outer circumferential side of a belt layer in a tread portion, and a polyethylene terephthalate fiber cord of which the elastic modulus under a load of 2.0 cN/dtex at 100° C. is in the range of 3.5 cN/(tex.Math.%) to 5.5 cN/(tex.Math.%) is used as the organic fiber cord. The coating rubber covering the organic fiber cord contains one or more of natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, or butadiene rubber as a rubber component. The coating rubber is formed of a rubber composition in which the content of natural rubber in the rubber component is 50 mass % or more, and 5.0 parts by mass to 9.0 parts by mass of zinc oxide is blended per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component.

Tire with rubber tread of intermedial and lateral zones with path of least electrical resistance

The invention relates to a tire having a rubber tread of a circumferentially zoned tread. The tread zones are comprised of three circumferential load bearing zones, with each zone containing a portion of the running surface of the tread, comprised of a silica-rich intermedial rubber zone positioned between and extending beneath two carbon black-rich lateral tread zones. The tread configuration contains an underlying carbon black-rich base rubber layer. The intermedial and stratified lateral zones are comprised of rubber compositions having differentiated rebound physical properties. A path of least electrical resistance extends from a lateral carbon black-rich rubber tread zone to the carbon black-rich tread base layer by an extension of a lateral tread zone or by an intermediate carbon black-rich rubber bridge.

PNEUMATIC TIRE

The present invention provides a pneumatic tire that can improve wet grip performance while maintaining a good TGC resistance, even when the tire is stored as having a thin thickness of a subtread at a bottom of a tread main groove, and rim-assembled and mounted on a vehicle to be left to stand. The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire comprising a tread part, the tread part comprising at least a cap tread and a jointless band, the cap tread being formed of a rubber composition for a cap tread, the jointless band comprising fiber cords coated with a rubber composition for fiber cord toppings, the rubber composition for a cap tread comprising 3.0 parts by mass or more of antioxidant based on 100 parts by mass of a rubber component comprising a diene-based rubber, and wherein a subtread thickness at the bottom of tread main grooves is 0.1 to 3.0 mm
