Tire tread with sipes

The tread has a contact face which is provided with a plurality of grooves opening to the contact face and a plurality of contact elements being delimited by the plurality of grooves. Each contact element has a top face constituting a part of the contact face and at least two incisions opening to the top face and extending radially inward of the contact elements. The incisions include at least one thin incision that is delimited via two opposed thin incision faces having a width t1 and at least one thick incision being delimited via two opposed thick incision faces having a width t2. The width t2 is thicker than the width t1. The at least one thick incision comprises at least one protrusion protruding from one of the thick incision face toward another thick incision face. The width t2 of the at least one thick incision is at least equal to 1.0 mm.

The side surface portions are formed so as to approach the bottom point as the side surface portions extend inward in the tire radial direction from the ground contact surface.

The first sipe includes, on a side of a sipe bottom, a widened portion with a larger sipe width than a side of the tread surface. The second sipe includes a plurality of holes recessed inwardly in the tire radial direction in a sipe bottom at positions separate in a sipe longitudinal direction.

An intermediate surface is formed between the inclined surface and the sipe, the intermediate surface having an inclination angle with respect to the ground contact surface of 0 degrees or having an inclination angle with respect to the ground contact surface that is smaller than an inclination angle of the inclined surface with respect to the ground contact surface.

A pneumatic tire includes a pair of circumferential main grooves, a plurality of center lug grooves, and center blocks. The pair of circumferential main grooves are disposed on both sides of a tire equatorial plane in a tire lateral direction. The tire equatorial plane is interposed between the pair of circumferential main grooves. The pair of circumferential main grooves extend in a tire circumferential direction and oscillate in the tire lateral direction. The plurality of center lug grooves have both ends connected to the pair of circumferential main grooves. The center blocks are defined by the center lug grooves and the pair of circumferential main grooves. The center lug grooves have bent portions at two or more positions. The center blocks include center narrow grooves having both ends connected to the pair of circumferential main grooves. The center narrow groove has bent portions at two or more positions.

The land portion includes a through lug groove that passes through the land portion in the tire lateral direction and includes first and second chamfered portions formed on left and right edge portions of the through lug groove. The first chamfered portion opens at one end to one of the edge portions of the land portion and terminates at the other end at a central portion in the groove length direction of the through lug groove. The second chamfered portion opens at one end portion to one of the edge portions of the land portion and terminates at the other end portion at a central portion in the groove length direction of the through lug groove.
