Inflatable gate seal assembly
An inflatable gate seal assembly includes a dump box that is mountable on a dump truck for carrying and dumping a load. A gate is hingedly coupled to the dump box for opening and closing the dump box. A conduit is integrated into the dump box and the conduit is fluidly coupled to an air compressor of the dump truck to receive compressed air from the air compressor. A control is positioned in a cab of the dump truck and the control is in electrical communication with the air compressor. A balloon is coupled to the dump box and the balloon is in fluid communication with the conduit. The balloon is inflated when the control is put in an on condition. Thus, the balloon engages the gate when the balloon is inflated and the gate is in the closed position to inhibit debris from passing between the dump box and the gate.

In one aspect, a variable pressure weatherstrip assembly according to the present disclosure includes: a weatherstrip including a sealing portion having a closed cross-section therein and configured to seal a portion between a vehicle body and an opening/closing part of a vehicle, and a fixing portion integrated with the sealing portion and fixed to a panel of the vehicle; an air supply device configured to supply pressurized air to the sealing portion; an air line configured to allow the air supply device and the sealing portion to communicate with each other; and one or more control valves installed in the air line, disposed between the sealing portion and the air supply device, and configured to control the air to be supplied to the sealing portion from the air supply device.

In one aspect, a variable pressure weatherstrip assembly according to the present disclosure includes: a weatherstrip including a sealing portion having a closed cross-section therein and configured to seal a portion between a vehicle body and an opening/closing part of a vehicle, and a fixing portion integrated with the sealing portion and fixed to a panel of the vehicle; an air supply device configured to supply pressurized air to the sealing portion; an air line configured to allow the air supply device and the sealing portion to communicate with each other; and one or more control valves installed in the air line, disposed between the sealing portion and the air supply device, and configured to control the air to be supplied to the sealing portion from the air supply device.
PRESSURE VARIABLE WEATHER STRIP CONTROL METHOD
A method of controlling a pressure variable weather strip for varying a pressure of a sealing part of the weather strip is provided. The method includes a closing checking step of, by a controller, checking whether an opening/closing part of a vehicle is in a closed state. When a vehicle speed reaches a preset target vehicle speed to increase the pressure of the sealing part in a state in which the opening/closing part is closed, the controller operates an air supply device to supply air to the sealing part.
PRESSURE VARIABLE WEATHER STRIP CONTROL METHOD
A method of controlling a pressure variable weather strip for varying a pressure of a sealing part of the weather strip is provided. The method includes a closing checking step of, by a controller, checking whether an opening/closing part of a vehicle is in a closed state. When a vehicle speed reaches a preset target vehicle speed to increase the pressure of the sealing part in a state in which the opening/closing part is closed, the controller operates an air supply device to supply air to the sealing part.

Provided is a door weather strip that provides excellent closing performance of a door and sound insulation properties, and does not impair the appearance. A door weather strip includes a mounting base and a hollow seal portion. The mounting base has a hole penetrating the mounting base, and the hole is mounted with a valve penetrating the mounting base. At the time of manufacturing a vehicle, the door is closed with the valve open, so that the air within the hollow seal portion is discharged to compress and shape the hollow seal portion (first step). When the door is opened, the valve is closed to retain the shaped state of the hollow seal portion (second step). The valve is opened again at a time point when the hollow seal portion begins to come into contact between the door and the vehicle body opening while the door is closing, or at a time point when the door is closed (third step).
