REMOTELY CONTROLLING VEHICLE TOUCHSCREEN CONTROLS
Techniques are described that facilitate remotely interfacing with a vehicle touchscreen. According to an embodiment, a method is provided comprising determining touch controls included in a GUI configured for displaying on a touchscreen of the vehicle, wherein the touch controls provide for controlling functions of the vehicle based on first interaction with the touch controls as displayed on the touchscreen. The method further comprises generating a representation of the GUI for display via an auxiliary display of the auxiliary device, the representation comprising one or more graphical controls corresponding to one or more touch controls of the touch controls, and enabling remote control of one or more functions of the functions of the vehicle by the auxiliary device based on second interaction with the one or more graphical controls as displayed via the auxiliary display.

A vehicle communication system installed in a vehicle includes: a lamp for illumination, a display or signal; a display that is configured by a planar light emitter and has an information display function; and a control unit that is capable of controlling turning-on of the lamp and of the display. The control unit is configured to control the lamp and the display in a linked manner, and present vehicle information indicating a condition of the vehicle by combining light emission of the lamp with information display of the display.
In-vehicle display
An illustrative example embodiment of a display includes a cover, a plurality of display panels that collectively establish a display area, and a polarizer between the display panels and the cover. The polarizer is coextensive with the entire display area.
Multi-window display controller
Systems and methods for using multiple control displays to control displaying applications on a dashboard screen in a vehicle are described. The applications can be non-driving-critical applications running in an operating system installed on a computing device embedded in the vehicle. The computing device is connected to the dashboard screen, a first control display and a second control display. A controlling application in the operating system can populate the first control display and the second control display with different menus, and display one or more of the non-driving-critical applications in a single display area or multiple display areas depending on user inputs from the first control display and the second control display. In an embodiment, the first control display is positioned within a driving wheel of the vehicle and the second control display is positioned between two front seats in the vehicle.
Screen for a free and a restricted viewing mode
A screen with a transmissive image generator with pixels which is operable in at least two operating modes, B1 for a free viewing mode and B2 for a restricted viewing mode, and with an illuminating apparatus comprising a backlight that has a planar extension and radiates light in a restricted angular range, a plate-shaped light guide arranged in front of the backlight and provided with outcoupling elements on one of the large surfaces and/or within its volume, the light guide being transparent to at least 70% of the light emitted by the backlight; and light sources arranged laterally at edges of the light guide. In mode B2, the backlight is switched on and the light sources are switched off, and in mode B1 at least the light sources are switched on. In interaction with the transmissive image generator the illuminating apparatus constitutes an advantageous screen permitting the operating modes.

The output content determination unit determines, as the output content, content including the details of a situation that matches or that is similar to the situation data. The output content determination unit determines, as the output content, content including the details of a risk or an accident in a situation that matches or that is similar to the situation data.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR APPLICATION INTERACTION ON AN ELONGATED DISPLAY SCREEN
A vehicle infotainment system is provided. The vehicle infotainment system includes a display screen for displaying a plurality of applications and a controller communicatively coupled to the display screen. The controller is configured to display the plurality of applications in an inactive state. The controller is also configured to receive a user input to activate a first application of the plurality of applications. The controller is further configured to transition the first application into an active state. In addition, the controller is configured to display the active first application to the left of the plurality of inactive applications on the display screen.
