Flexible notifications via an instrument cluster
Systems, methods and computer readable storage media provide flexible vehicle status notifications via an instrument cluster displayed on an in-vehicle screen. In some examples, when a non-displayed gauge goes into an out-of-parameter or warning range, the gauge may be dynamically shown in the out-of-parameter or warning state in a container position assigned to the gauge in another display or in a dynamic container position in the instrument cluster. In some examples, a popup notification may be provided to inform the driver of a condition. When there are multiple notifications, they may be grouped into definable severity classifications and prioritized so that a notification determined to be a most important message at the time is presented to the driver in a notification zone central to a driver's field of vision on the instrument cluster that allows for reusing screen space for providing warning and information from a range of data sources.
VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROL SYSTEM, VEHICLE, VEHICLE DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM STORING A PROGRAM
A vehicle display control device includes: a processor, the processor being configured to: acquire relay point information related to a plurality of relay points that have been set at intervals along a planned travel route of a vehicle; and display, so as to be superimposed on a foreground in a display region provided in front of an occupant, an image directed toward a planned path change point along an imaginary line connecting the relay points.
REMOTELY CONTROLLING VEHICLE TOUCHSCREEN CONTROLS
Techniques are described that facilitate remotely interfacing with a vehicle touchscreen. According to an embodiment, a method is provided comprising determining touch controls included in a GUI configured for displaying on a touchscreen of the vehicle, wherein the touch controls provide for controlling functions of the vehicle based on first interaction with the touch controls as displayed on the touchscreen. The method further comprises generating a representation of the GUI for display via an auxiliary display of the auxiliary device, the representation comprising one or more graphical controls corresponding to one or more touch controls of the touch controls, and enabling remote control of one or more functions of the functions of the vehicle by the auxiliary device based on second interaction with the one or more graphical controls as displayed via the auxiliary display.
Responsive human machine interface
The human machine interface (HMI) of a vehicle, especially an automobile is responsive to outside stimuli. Signals relevant to the amount of concentration required by a driver are received by the HMI, which determines, based on the values of these signals, a driver distraction level. As the driver distraction level increases, areas of a structured display on a display screen are dynamically removed, to present the driver with a reduced distractions when greater concentration is required.
Systems and methods for determining the driver of a vehicle
A system and method for disabling distracting apps on a driver's personal devices while allowing passengers travelling in the same vehicle to have full use of their personal devices. The system works by first identifying all the personal devices that are in the vehicle and then establishing a loose mesh network between those devices. Once the mesh network is established, the system identifies which of the personal devices is associated with the driver, and ensures that any distracting apps on the driver's personal device are disabled, while allowing full functionality for any passenger's personal devices.
Coordinating delivery of notifications to the driver of a vehicle to reduce distractions
A notification control system (NCS) is configured to coordinate the delivery of notifications issued from a set of devices to the driver of a vehicle. The NCS registers all interactive devices residing in a vehicle and causes those devices to conform to specific directives generated by the NCS. The NCS analyzes and predicts the cognitive and emotional load on the driver and also estimates the cognitive and emotional impact on the driver potentially caused by any incoming notifications. The NCS then coordinates the delivery of notifications to the driver in a manner that avoids overwhelming the cognitive and/or emotional capacity of the driver. Accordingly, the NCS may avoid situations where device notifications cause the driver to unsafely divert attention away from driving.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PLAYING VEHICLE MONITORED CONTENT IN A VEHICLE
In one embodiment, a safety system for playing vehicle monitored content in a vehicle while minimizing driver distraction is provided. When the driver selects a camera, such as a rear view camera, vehicle monitored content stream from the camera is displayed on a display in the vehicle. While the driver drives the vehicle, the eye-gaze of the driver is monitored. When the eye-gaze of the driver shows that the driver is looking at the display, a timer is started. The timer runs when the driver looks at the display. When the eye-gaze of the driver shows that the driver has looked at the road continuously for more than a threshold amount of time, the time associated with the vehicle monitored content is reset back to its initial value. If the timer runs out, indicating that the driver has been watching the vehicle monitored content too much without also looking at the road, the vehicle monitored content is stopped and the driver is prevented from watching the vehicle monitored content for some period of time.
Enhanced touchscreen operation
A location of a first wearable device is determined based on a first biometric signature. Operation of a touchscreen display is restricted if the location of the first wearable device is in an operator's side of a vehicle cabin and the first wearable device is within a first distance from the display.
Processing method, program, processing apparatus, and detection system
A processing method for a processing apparatus is disclosed. The processing method causes a computer of the processing apparatus to perform a process. The process includes detecting a position and a sleep state of a passenger inside a vehicle on a basis of information indicating a state of space including seats of the vehicle. The information is obtained from a sensor provided inside the vehicle. The process also includes notifying an operator of the vehicle of the detected position and the detected sleep state of the passenger. Further, the process also includes transmitting, upon detecting an operation, the operation being performed by the operator of the vehicle in response to the notifying, for controlling a device near the detected position of the passenger, a control command corresponding to the operation to the device.
Automated pacing of vehicle operator content interaction
In one example, a computing device includes one or more user input detection components, and one or more processors configured to receive an indication of a first user input detected by the one or more user input detection components, responsive to receiving the indication of the first user input, adjust a level of an attention buffer at a defined rate; responsive to determining that the level of the attention buffer satisfies a first threshold, prevent further interaction with a user interface of the computing device, responsive to determining that an indication of a second user input has not been received within a time period, adjust a level of the attention buffer, and responsive to determining that the level of the attention buffer satisfies a second threshold, allow further interaction with the user interface.
