Induction charging device
An induction charging device for an electrically operated motor vehicle may include at least one charging assembly. The at least one charging assembly may include a charging coil, a ferrite assembly, a metal shielding plate, and a temperature-control assembly through which a fluid is flowable. The charging coil may be inductively couplable to a primary coil such that a motor vehicle battery is inductively chargeable. The ferrite assembly may include a plurality of rotatable ferrite plates arranged next to one another. When in a closed position, a respective ferrite plate may be arranged parallel to the charging coil and may shield the metal shielding plate from the charging coil. When in an open position, the respective ferrite plate may be arranged at an angle relative to the charging coil and may partially shield the metal shielding plate from the charging coil.

Wireless power system
A system and method are provided for a feed-forward control of an inverter to reduce, and potentially minimize, a DC link capacitor of a wireless power transfer system. The feed-forward control may be utilized to reduce the capacitance of the DC link capacitor in a single-phase series-series compensated WPT system.
CONTROLLER FOR VEHICLE, AND CHARGING SYSTEM
A server includes a communication device and a processor. The communication device obtains a power rate unit price dependent on a region where external charging is performed and a time slot when external charging is performed. The processor calculates a first power rate indicating a power rate when the external charging is performed with a first power feeding facility provided at a departure place before departure of a vehicle, calculates a second power rate indicating a power rate when the external charging is performed with a second power feeding facility provided in the vicinity of a traveling route after departure of the vehicle, and when the second power rate is lower than the first power rate, reduces an amount of power feeding during the external charging with the first power feeding facility, as compared with when the second power rate is equal to or higher than the first power rate.
Systems and methods for low power excitation in high power wireless power systems
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for low power excitation of wireless power transmitters configured to transmit high power. The exemplary systems and methods include disabling a power factor correction circuit of the transmitter, and adjusting one or more variable impedance components of the impedance network to obtain a minimum attainable impedance. The variable impedance components can be configured to operate between the minimum attainable impedance and a maximum attainable impedance. The systems and methods can include adjusting a phase shift angle associated with one or more transistors of the inverter and driving the transmitter such that the transmitter resonator coil generates a magnetic flux density less than or equal to a field safety threshold.

Circuit for Object Detection and Vehicle Position Determination
A multi-purpose detection circuit for object detection and vehicle position determination is described. For example, the circuit is configurable for detecting foreign metallic objects, living objects, and a vehicle or type of vehicle above an inductive wireless power transmitter. The circuit is also configurable for determining the vehicle's position relative to the inductive wireless power transmitter. An example apparatus includes a measurement circuit including a multiplexer, electrically connected to a plurality of inductive and capacitive sense circuits, for measuring one or more electrical characteristics in each of the inductive and capacitive sense circuits according to a predetermined time multiplexing scheme. The apparatus further includes a control and evaluation circuit for evaluating the measured electrical characteristics and determining at least one of a presence of a metallic object, a living object, a vehicle, or a type of vehicle, and a vehicle position based on changes in the measured electrical characteristics.

GROUND POWER SUPPLY APPARATUS
A ground power supply apparatus for transmitting power to a vehicle by noncontact has: a plurality of power transmission apparatuses for transmitting power to the vehicle; at least one detection device for detecting a signal emitted from the vehicle using narrow range wireless communication; and a controller for controlling the power transmission apparatuses. The power transmission apparatuses are arranged in a road aligned in a direction of advance of the vehicle. One first detection device is arranged so as to enable detection of the signal at an upstream side from the most upstream power transmission apparatus. The control device controls transmission of power from power transmission apparatuses other than the first power transmission apparatus positioned the most upstream, based on the signal detected by the first detection device and power transmission result information at the power transmission apparatus positioned upstream of that power transmission apparatus.
