Active outside rear view device enclosure
An active outside rear view system for a vehicle includes a support structure mounted to an exterior surface of the vehicle. A rear view device is movably affixed to the support structure. A linkage extends from a first end to a second end, where the first end of the linkage is movably affixed to an aerodynamic enclosure and the second end of the linkage is movably affixed to the support structure. An actuator is engaged with the linkage and moves the aerodynamic enclosure between at least a first position and a second position different from the first position. The aerodynamic enclosure is independently movable relative to the rear view device and the support structure. The aerodynamic first position and the second position provide differing aerodynamic characteristics to the active outside rear view system.

VEHICULAR EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY WITH EXTENDABLE AND RETRACTABLE MIRROR HEAD
A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head and a mounting arm. The mirror head is mounted at the mounting arm via an adjustment mechanism. With the mounting arm attached at a side of a vehicle, an adjustment mechanism is operable to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm between a retracted position and an extended position. The adjustment mechanism includes an actuator that is electrically operable to pivotally adjust a link that includes a first end pivotally attached to the mirror head and a second end pivotally attached at the mounting arm. The adjustment mechanism, when the actuator is operated, moves the mirror head along a path between the retracted and extended positions. The actuator is disposed at the mirror head so that, when the mirror head moves between the retracted and extended positions, the actuator travels along the path with the mirror head.

Motorised Vehicle Mirrors
A towing mirror including a mount adapted to be mounted to a vehicle cabin, an extension component including a first member and a second member, one of said first and second members including one or more tracks and the other including one or more carriages, said one or more tracks and said one or more carriages being arranged such that said one or more carriages run on said one or more tracks whereby said second member may move linearly relative to said first member from a retracted position to an extended position and vice versa, and a mirror component operatively connected to said second member.
Base assembly and rear view device therewith
A base assembly of an exterior rear view device includes a base frame, and a base cover housing the base frame and formed in at least two parts connected to each other, where the base assembly includes a first opening at a first end of the base assembly at which the base frame is configured to be attached to a vehicle and a second opening at a second end of the base assembly at which a head assembly of the exterior rear view device is configured to be attached to the base frame.

MIRROR POSITION REGISTRATION CONTROL APPARATUS
A mirror position registration control apparatus includes a shift position detector that detects a shift position of a vehicle, a mirror surface position detector that detects a change in a mirror surface position in the vehicle, a mirror surface position storage that stores a set mirror surface position; an information display that displays information for a driver who drives the vehicle, a registration operation receiver that receives a registration operation for the mirror surface position inputted by the driver, and a processor that, in a case where the mirror surface position is changed with the shift position set at a reverse position, displays a registration screen for the changed mirror surface position on the information display and stores the changed mirror surface position in the mirror surface position storage on the basis of the registration operation when the shift position is changed from the reverse position to a parking position.
