TRIM MODULE FOR A PILLAR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A trim module is disclosed for a pillar of a motor vehicle, in particular for an A-pillar of a motor car. The trim module includes a trim body, a basic body configured to connect to the pillar, a latch and a jointed connection. The trim body includes a pivot portion pivotable about the jointed connection and facing the interior of the motor vehicle. The basic body includes a connecting portion, a bearing portion and a support portion. The support portion is formed in the direction of the pivot portion. The pivot portion, the bearing portion and the support portion form a first receiving region for an inflatable airbag. The pivot portion and the bearing portion are detachably connected to one another by the latch and the jointed connection is formed on the side of the support portion facing away from the first receiving region.
Knee airbag configuration
An airbag system for restraining a lower body of a vehicle occupant during a collision event and a method for deploying the same are disclosed. The airbag system includes a panel and a restraining airbag. The panel defines a support surface that is adapted to be deployed from a first configuration to a second configuration responsive to the collision event. In the first configuration, the panel forms part of an instrument panel of a vehicle and, in the second configuration, the panel is at least partially separated from the instrument panel of the vehicle. The restraining airbag is adapted to be deployed adjacent to the support surface of the panel between the support surface and the lower body of the vehicle occupant responsive to the collision event.
Knee airbag apparatus
A knee airbag apparatus including a housing part that is formed such that one side thereof is open, a cover part covering the open portion of the housing part, a cushion part that is accommodated in a folded state inside the housing part and connected to an inflator, and a flap part surrounding the folded cushion part on a side of the cover part, and blocking a gap between the housing part and a lower panel of a vehicle to substantially prevent the cushion part from being caught by the lower panel when the cushion part is deployed.
Vehicle pillar release assemblies and related methods
Pillar release mechanisms and related airbag cushion assemblies. Some embodiments may comprise a curtain airbag assembly comprising an inflator and a curtain airbag cushion configured to be inflated with the inflator. The curtain airbag cushion may extend along an elongated axis and the curtain airbag assembly may be configured to be positioned within and deploy from a panel of a vehicle. The assembly may further comprise a release mechanism coupled with the curtain airbag cushion and configured to be coupled with the panel. The release mechanism may be configured to release the panel using an initial deployment force from the curtain airbag cushion, the initial deployment force being in a direction at least substantially parallel to the elongated axis.
Airbag device
An airbag device includes an airbag formed with a discharge portion. The discharge portion includes: an opening portion; a tack portion around the opening portion; and a regulating belt portion disposed on a peripheral edge of the opening portion to regulate opening and closing of the opening portion. When the inflation of the airbag is completed, the tack portion is maintained in a folded state by the regulating belt portion due to tension acting on the regulation belt portion, so that a closed state of the opening portion is capable of being maintained, and when the tension does not act on the regulating belt portion, the folded state is released and the opening portion is brought into an open state.
Retractable side protecting airbag for child safety seat
The present invention discloses a retractable side protecting airbag for a child safety seat which includes a side protecting base provided on an outer side surface of the seat body. Specifically, the side protecting base is provided with the retractable side protecting airbag. The retractable side protecting airbag is correspondingly provided with an air deflating hole. The side protecting airbag is internally provided with a resetting structure. An outer end of the retractable side protecting airbag is provided with a side protecting cover. The protecting cover and the side protecting base are locked to each other and work collaboratively for folding the retractable side protecting airbag. The present invention has a reasonable structure and a long distance for crumpling, and is capable of providing buffering and effective energy absorption, thereby greatly reducing the damage to children from side crashes.
