This invention relates to an energy absorbing member (3) for a load carrying, load pulling, load pushing or load stopping assembly or the like, wherein said energy absorbing member (3) includes first and second attachment devices (30, 31) and a shaped body member (35) extending in a longitudinal direction (C) between said first and second attachment devices (30, 31) arranged to enable a predetermined relative elongation (ΔL) between said first and second attachment devices (30, 31) parallelly with said longitudinal direction (C) upon simultaneous absorption of energy reducing the risk of hazard in connection with sudden deceleration, wherein said absorbing member (3) includes a stabilizing control arrangement (36) that extends along said shaped body member (35) arranged to stabilize the said shaped body (35) in relation to forces not exceeding a first force level (F1) hindering relative movement between said attachment devices (30, 31) in at least one dimension.

Seat-belt mounting system

An apparatus includes a mounting plate having at least one deformable opening arranged to receive a securing member. The opening is configured to deform when a load on the mounting plate exceeds a predetermined threshold. The apparatus includes a ring member connected to the mounting plate. The ring member includes an opening to receive a strap there-through.

Belt Retractor With Two-Part Tensioning Drive Wheel

A belt retractor having a belt shaft having a shaft body, a profile head and a torsion bar, wherein the torsion bar arranged in the shaft body is connected on one end to the shaft body and on a second end to the profile head, and the profile head can be securely attached to the vehicle, and having a belt pretensioner, wherein a pretensioner drive wheel of the belt pretensioner is directly connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the profile head of the belt shaft, and mass bodies can be engaged with the pretensioner drive wheel so as to transmit force to drive the belt shaft in winding direction. The pretensioner drive wheel (16) is configured by means of two parts, the profile head (1) of the belt shaft and a push-on ring (2) that is pushed onto the profile head (1) and is positively and non-positively connected thereto, wherein respectively mutually opposite dome-shaped partial receiving socket segments (3), which form together receiving sockets for the mass bodies, are formed on the profile head (1) and on the push-on ring (2).

Load Limiting Seat Belt Buckle Assemblies

A seat belt buckle assembly includes a buckle housing; a plate extending from the buckle housing and defining a slot; and a bracket including a rivet engaged in the slot. The plate and rivet are configured such that, in response to an impact force that exceeds a threshold acting to pull the buckle housing away from the bracket, the slot plastically deforms, permitting the buckle housing and plate to translate relative to the bracket.

WEBBING TAKE-UP DEVICE

A webbing take-up device in which, when a pretensioner mechanism is activated and turning of a pinion relative to a spool is allowed, a lock pawl is turned by the pinion and a trigger wire is sheared by the lock pawl. Thereafter, the pinion turns more relative to the lock pawl and shears a lock pin of the lock pawl. Hence, the lock pawl turns and activates an activation mechanism. Therefore, the activation mechanism may be activated without a torsion shaft of a force limiter mechanism allowing turning of a lock base in the take-up direction relative to the spool.

Seat belt device for a vehicle seat
11192520 · 2021-12-07 · ·

A seat belt device for a vehicle seat, having a seat belt, the belt tongue of which in an engaged state is releasably connected to a seat-side belt buckle. The belt buckle is guided via at least one wire rope through a sleeve-like deflection element, which defines the course of the wire rope between its connection point on the seat side and its connection point on the belt buckle side. The sleeve-like deflection element has a predetermined deformation point, at which the deflection element is deformed in the event of a head-on collision, more specifically with the belt buckle being displaced from its use position into a crash position in which the tilt or twist moments acting on the belt buckle are reduced.

Load-limiting assembly for seatbelt

An assembly for a vehicle includes a pillar elongated along an axis. A seatbelt guide is supported by the pillar. The seatbelt guide is moveable relative to the pillar along the axis. The vehicle includes a seatbelt retractor and a webbing. The webbing is retractably extendable from the retractor. The seatbelt retractor is below the seatbelt guide. The webbing extends upwardly from the retractor and around the seatbelt guide. The vehicle includes a load limiter. The load limiter has a lower end fixed to the pillar. The load limiter has an upper end. The upper end is between the seatbelt guide and the lower end. The load limiter is crushable relative to the seatbelt guide and the pillar.

A vehicle seat belt device that includes: a load transmitting member that is formed in a flexible elongate shape, an end portion, at a seat rear side, of the load transmitting member being engaged with an anchor that is secured, at a seat rear side and at a seat lower side of a seat cushion, to a vehicle body or a vehicle seat, and an end portion, at a seat front side, of the load transmitting member being engaged with a pretensioner that is provided at the seat front side and at the seat lower side of the seat cushion and which, upon activation, pulls the seat front-side end portion of the load transmitting member inside the pretensioner; and a guide portion that is provided integrally with a buckle and that abuts a middle portion of the load transmitting member.

Seatbelt webbing including auxetic portion

A seatbelt webbing includes an auxetic portion elongated along an axis. The auxetic portion includes a plurality of segments rotatably connected to each other at hinges. The hinges are spaced along the axis and are transverse to the axis. The auxetic portion includes a plurality of strands. Each strand is embedded in at least two of the hinges. When tensile force above a predetermined level is applied to the auxetic portion by a vehicle occupant, e.g., the chest of the vehicle occupant, the auxetic portion both stretches along the axis and widens transverse to the axis, i.e., has a negative Poisson ratio.
