SEAT-BELT RETRACTOR ASSEMBLY
A restraint system includes a housing, a spool, a disc, a cutter, a plate, and an actuator. The spool is rotatably coupled to the housing. The disc is fixed to the spool. The cutter is moveable along a path from a spaced position away from the disc to a cutting position adjacent the disc. The plate is moveable between an engaged position extending in the path and a disengaged position spaced from the path. The actuator is coupled to the plate.
LOAD LIMITING SEATBELT RETRACTOR
A vehicle includes a seatbelt retractor. The seatbelt retractor includes a housing. The seatbelt retractor includes a spool having a first end and a second end each rotatably supported by the housing. The spool is elongated on an axis from the first end to the second end. The seatbelt retractor includes a torsion bar having a first end fixed to the first end of the spool and a second end operatively engaged with the housing. The torsion bar has a central cavity. The seatbelt retractor includes a heating filament disposed in the central cavity.
WEBBING TAKE-UP DEVICE
In this webbing take-up device, a first bend portion, a second bend portion, and a third bend portion are formed in a wire. In an initial state of the wire, the wire is supported by a second squeezing portion by being abutted against the second squeezing portion on a base end side in the longitudinal direction thereof from the second bend portion, and is supported by a third squeezing portion by being abutted against the third squeezing portion on a base end side in the longitudinal direction thereof from the third bend portion. As a result, the timings when the wire starts to be squeezed by each one of a first squeezing portion, the second squeezing portion, and the third squeezing portion can each be mutually offset.
Load-limiting seatbelt assembly
A seatbelt assembly includes a seatbelt retractor, a support spaced from the seatbelt retractor, and a webbing retractably engaged with the seatbelt retractor. The webbing is moveable relative to the support. The seatbelt assembly includes a magnet and a conductive material adjacent the magnet. One of the magnet and the conductive material is fixed to the support, and the other of the magnet and the conductive material is moveable by the webbing relative to the support.
Seat belt retractor with load limiting stop mechanism
A seat belt retractor comprises a rotatable spool on which seat belt webbing is wound. The spool is rotatable in a webbing withdrawal direction and an opposite webbing retraction direction. The seat belt retractor also comprises a pretensioner actuatable to rotate the spool in the webbing retraction direction and a load-limiting system to limit a load applied to a vehicle occupant by the seat belt webbing. The load-limiting system includes a torsion bar mounted such that the torsion bar is twisted when a load in excess of a predetermined load is applied to the spool in the webbing withdrawal direction by the seat belt webbing. The bad-limiting system also includes a stop assembly actuatable to limit rotation of the spool in the webbing withdrawal direction to a predetermined number of rotations while the torsion bar is being twisted. The stop assembly is actuated upon actuation of the pretensioner.

The seatbelt retractor includes a heating filament disposed in the central cavity.
Belt retractor for a vehicle seat belt
A belt retractor for a vehicle seat belt comprises a rotatably supported belt reel from which webbing can be unwound, a force limiting means which in a force limiting phase permits controlled webbing extension in the webbing extension direction when the belt reel is blocked and a particular force threshold is exceeded, and a change-over device for performing a change-over operation during which it is changed between a low force limitation level and a high force limitation level. In accordance with the invention, the change-over device includes a control means which in response to the identification of an installed child safety seat suppresses a change-over operation from the low force limitation level to the high force limitation level and/or triggers a change-over operation from the high force limitation level to the low force limitation level.
