A crossmember assembly is provided for a motor vehicle having a roof with first and second rails. Each rail has a width within a range of widths, with the first and second rails being spaced from one another by distance within a range of distances. The assembly includes a crossbar having first and second ends and movable along the rails. The assembly further includes a first clamp mechanism engaged with the first end for securing the crossbar to the first rail and a second clamp mechanism engaged with the second end for securing the crossbar to the first rail. Each of the first and second clamp mechanisms includes a stanchion attached to the crossbar and having a first rail gripping surface. Each of the first and second clamp mechanisms further includes a scotch yoke, which has a second rail gripping surface and is movable between clamped and unclamped states.

Systems and methods for remotely locking and unlocking vehicle accessory locks of vehicle accessories positioned on a vehicle are disclosed. The vehicle includes main doors with locks that are remotely lockable and unlockable using main door lock actuators. Vehicle includes a vehicle controller that receives a user signal from a user, first determines a main door actuation command based on the first signal, and first transmits, based on the main door actuation command, a first actuation command signal to the main door lock actuators. The system includes accessory lock actuator(s) operably coupled to the accessory lock(s), accessory lock controller(s) operably coupled to the accessory lock actuator(s), and a gateway controller operably coupled to the vehicle controller. Gateway controller second determines an accessory lock actuation command based on the first actuation command signal, and second transmits, based on the accessory lock actuation command, a gateway signal to the accessory lock controller.

A tent system includes a base system, a canopy, and one or more interconnecting members. The base system includes a first base member configured to mount to a vehicle, a second base member, and a hinge pivotally attaching the first base member to the second base member. The canopy includes a flexible membrane having a membrane edge and a canopy fastener coupled to at least a portion of the membrane edge and configured to mate with an interconnecting member fastener. A carrier device for securing an accessory to a vehicle is provided. The carrier device includes a support frame, a first suction cup mounted at the first end of the support frame, and a second suction cup mounted at the second end of the support frame. The carrier device also includes a first vacuum pump configured to selectively adjust the pressure within the first suction cup, and a second vacuum pump configured to selectively adjust the pressure within the second suction cup. The suction cups may be pivotally mounted to the support frame such that the rotational position of the first and second suction cups relative to the support frame is adjustable to selectively couple the carrier device to a vehicle. The carrier device may also include a support frame having a length that is adjustable to adapt to the size of a vehicle, and/or to adapt to the size of an accessory.

A vehicle includes a roof assembly including a roof having an outer facing surface and a roof ditch that extends below the outer facing surface. The roof ditch extends in a vehicle longitudinal direction between a front windshield and a rear window. A roof ditch sealer is located at least partially within the roof ditch. A mounting bracket for mounting a vehicle accessory is located in the roof ditch. The mounting bracket may include sealer dam portions that extend downward at opposite sides of a mounting surface of the mounting bracket to provide end stops for the roof ditch sealer.

A mounting bracket system for a vehicle roof, and a method for its attachment to a vehicle having a side rail including a drip well, is contemplated in which no drilling of holes or other permanent modifications to the vehicle roof is required, and in which each individual mounting bracket may be independently fixed in place without requiring any structural support from interconnections with any other mounting bracket via crossbars or other interconnections. In this regard, a number of problems associated with prior mounting bracket systems may be overcome.
