ELECTRO-PNEUMATIC EMERGENCY AND SERVICE BRAKING CONTROL SYSTEM, FOR AT LEAST ONE RAILWAY VEHICLE
An electro-pneumatic service and emergency braking control system is described, comprising: a switching device arranged to allow the connection of a first group of control and feedback signals from an emergency braking control module to an electro-pneumatic emergency braking module when a monitoring device determines the correct operation of the emergency braking control module and to allow the connection of a third group of control and feedback signals from the service braking control module to the electro-pneumatic emergency braking module when the monitoring device determines the incorrect operation of the emergency braking control module.
METHOD FOR THE AUTOMATED ELECTRONIC CONTROL OF A BRAKE SYSTEM IN A UTILITY VEHICLE HAVING ANTI-LOCK BRAKING PROTECTION
A method for automatic electronic control of a brake system in a vehicle includes reading a brake signal for the automatic electronic control of brakes in the vehicle, wherein requests to be implemented by the brakes are transmitted via the brake signal to bring about automatically requested target vehicle longitudinal dynamics. The method further includes determining a brake pressure distribution indicating a ratio of a front axle brake pressure of a front axle to a rear axle brake pressure of a rear axle, and providing at least a first brake pressure signal of the first electronic control unit to at least a first electropneumatic control device, taking into account the braking request signal and the brake pressure distribution for controlling the front axle brake pressure and the rear axle brake pressure, and receiving the brake pressure distribution at a second electronic control unit and storing the detected brake pressure distribution.
Collision avoidance braking system and method
An automatic braking system and method are provided for controlling the automatic operation of a pneumatic (air) brake system installed on commercial highway vehicles and the like, particular heavy trucks and buses. When a possible collision is detected or an object is detected in proximity to at least one side and/or end of the vehicle, the system automatically operates the existing, factory installed air braking system of the vehicle to avoid a collision or mitigate the collision impact by concurrently pressurizing each of the rear and front pneumatic service brakes of the vehicle. Pressing the existing vehicle brake pedal deactivates the automatic braking system, thereby permitting the driver to take over control of braking at any time.
METHOD OF COAST REGENERATIVE BRAKE COOPERATION FOR A REAR WHEEL OF ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY VEHICLE
A method of coast regenerative brake cooperation control for rear wheels of an environment-friendly vehicle is provided. The method actively adjusts the generation amount of a braking force when distributing the braking force to front and rear wheels in response to reception of coast regeneration generation amount information that changes in real time.
MULTIPLE-STAGE COLLISION AVOIDANCE BRAKING SYSTEM AND METHOD
An apparatus and method for automatic actuation and control of an air braking system on a commercial vehicle, under a warning of collision conditions, has multiple stages of operation, which supplements the normal brake pedal activation and control of the air brake operation under the driver's foot control. Automatic actuation has two stages: (1) impending collision automatic activation and control for 1.4 second closure; and (2) imminent collision automatic activation and control for 0.9 seconds closure. A determination of closure occurring in excess of 1.6 seconds, turns off the warning, and also deactivates the automatic activation and control. A modification to a standard air brake system structure enables the addition of the automatic activation and control stages. When an impending collision signal is received, an activation component operates valves to pressurize the rear brakes to 40 psi. When the air pressure at the rear brakes rises to 20 psi, other valves pressurize the front brakes. This first stage automatic operation stops or slows the vehicle with 40 psi on the rear brakes and 20 psi on the front brakes. When an imminent collision signal is received, the activation component opens valves to pressurize the rear brakes to 120 psi. Once the air pressure at the rear brakes rises to 20 psi, the front brakes are also pressurized. This second stage automatic operation stops the vehicle with 120 psi on the rear brakes and 80 psi on the front brakes, unless restricted to a lower pressure by the brake system manufacturer. The driver can deactivate the automatic braking functions by stepping on the brake pedal or by operating the vehicle turn signals.

A modification to a standard air brake system structure enables the addition of the automatic activation and control stages. The driver can deactivate the automatic braking functions by stepping on the brake pedal or by operating the vehicle turn signals.
ELECTROHYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM FOR AN OFF-ROAD VEHICLE
An electrohydraulic brake system of an off-road vehicle includes a first hydraulic brake circuit for a first vehicle axle; a second hydraulic brake circuit for at least one second vehicle axle; a respective wheel brake for each vehicle wheel per vehicle axle; an electronic control unit having a brake force distribution function; a brake signal generator; at least one central brake force distribution valve per brake circuit, a signal input of the control unit for registering a braking signal of the brake signal generator; and at least one signal output of the control unit per brake force distribution valve. A brake pressure for applying a hydraulic pressure fluid to the brake cylinders of the wheel brakes on the respective vehicle axles can be fed to the respective brake circuit by the control unit in conjunction with the central brake force distribution valve and the brake signal generator.
