Method of Monitoring and Advising for a Group of Offshore Floating Wind Platforms
The disclosure provides a method and system to monitor and advise the status of a group of floating platforms, such as offshore floating wind platforms, by using a floating platform's motion in the group and detect one or more anomalies to identify one or more disorders (including irregularities) in the group. Input for this method can include information of wind speed and direction and orientations of the wind turbine nacelles. The orientation of the platform can complement the orientation of a wind turbine nacelle on the platform in case the platform is equipped with a turret. Disorders include, but not limited to, mooring line failure, shifts of a drag anchor, other issues with the mooring system components such as fairleads, issues with the ballasting configuration of the floater, issues with the turret (if any), issues with the swivel of the nacelle, issues with the rotor, and issues with the blades.
NAUTICAL DRIFT MANAGING DEVICE AND NAUTICAL DRIFT MANAGING METHOD
According to the present disclosure, a nautical drift managing device is provided. The nautical drift managing device includes an input circuitry to receive destination position information for a watercraft. Further, the nautical drift managing device includes a sensor circuitry to obtain external force information associated with the watercraft. Furthermore, the nautical drift managing device includes processing circuitry to determine, based on the destination position information and the external force information, a drift line associated with a drifting movement of the watercraft when an engine of the watercraft is stopped or neutral.
TECHNIQUES FOR MONITORING WINDLASS ROTATION
Methods and apparatus for monitoring windlass rotation are provided to determine the real time rate and length of rode release when anchoring a boat. The rotation can be monitored in real time using directional sound and/or electromagnetic radiation receivers and/or transmitter in a module attached to the windlass. Another windlass module can monitor windlass rotation using micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) components such as accelerometers, magnetometers, gyroscopes, and/or inertial measurement units (IMU) to sense motion and/or position.

Apparatus and method to confirm anchor holding status
An anchor assembly for discerning if an anchor has securely engaged with the seabed, having a float with a length of line below no more than twice the distance from the water's surface to the seabed. The float includes a redirection element that allows the line to support a ballast weight via a descending portion of the line and an ascending portion that is secured to an anchor. The volume of the float and ballast weight are selected such that the float remains visibly buoyant when the anchor is stationary, yet becomes wholly or partially submerged when the anchor is in motion with respect to the seabed surface.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SIMULATING MARINE ASSETS AS WELL AS AN ARRANGEMENT INCLUDING THE SYSTEM
A method is presented for simulating marine assets (MA) in an offshore operation. The marine assets comprise at least an anchor, a line coupling the anchor with a winch, and a support platform located offshore for supporting the winch. The method involves a computation stage for estimating a state of the marine assets using a computational model and received sensor data (Ds) pertaining to a state of the marine assets and/or of an environment (ME) wherein the marine assets are used. The computational model of the marine assets (MA) includes at least a specification of an anchor, a specification of a winch and a specification of a line coupling the anchor with the winch. The at least a line is modeled as a first portion extending between the winch and a touch-down point where the line touches the seabed and a second portion extending between the touch-down point and the anchor. Additionally a simulation system is presented for simulating the marine asset, and an arrangement including the marine asset and the simulation system.
Methods and apparatus for measuring and monitoring an anchoring operation
Novel techniques and equipment for anchoring a boat include sensing and measuring the real time rate and length of rode release based on detecting real time changes in the angular position of a windlass by computer vision using a portable computing device. Rode release is also detected using novel methods based on sensing sound, rode chain movement, and sensing acceleration and/or motion. The apparatus can include software operable to provide safe anchoring based on monitoring real times values of the rate and length of rode release, comparing these values to the speed and position of the boat, and providing local and remote status and alarm information to crew members.
METHOD FOR INSPECTION OF CATENARY ANCHOR LINES CONNECTED TO A FLOATING OBJECT
The disclosed method measures a line angle of a mooring line connected to a floating object floating in a body of water, the mooring line being connected between the floating object and an anchoring body disposed in a bed of the body of water, in which the floating object is coupled to the mooring line by a line connector. The method includes: defining at least three data points each associated with a respective location on the mooring line; on the data points obtaining a value associated with the location on the mooring line; determining parameters of an equation describing an anchor line curve from the values associated with the location on the mooring line for the data points; calculating at a predetermined position on the mooring line a line angle of the mooring line from a derivative of the equation at the predetermined position based on the parameters.
ANCHOR ROPE SYSTEM FOR AN OFFSHORE DEVICE
An anchor rope system for an offshore device for fixing an offshore device to a subsea floor. The anchor rope system includes at least one anchor rope surrounded by at least one sheathing. The anchor rope system includes at least one condition sensor formed by at least one fiber optic cable.
MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VESSEL MOORING WITH POSITION AND YAW, ROLL, AND PITCH ROTATIONAL MOTION
The present disclosure provides a system and method for monitoring a floating vessel hull mooring system by determining one or more hull rotational motions of yaw, roll, and/or pitch that do not require independent knowledge of environmental conditions. The hull rotational motion of a secure and intact mooring system can be calculated and/or established experientially over time by measuring movement of the hull to characterize the hull rotational motion at given geographical positions. A compromised mooring system will result in different hull rotational motion of at least one of yaw, roll, and/or pitch. By monitoring the hull rotational motion for a given geographical position to be compared to the theoretical values (and/or previous recorded values), it is then possible to assess that at least a portion of the mooring system has been compromised and in at some embodiment indicate which portion of the mooring system has been compromised.
