Low pressure respiration gas delivery method
A method and system to deliver to a submerged diver only that amount of breathing gas volume and pressure required at the diver's depth by controlling the actions of a valve in response to inhalation demand. A sensing unit detects diver respiration, and a logic unit controls a valve to deliver breathing gas to the diver from a breathing gas source via a tube.
First-stage diving regulator
A first-stage diving regulator including the profiled body, swivel turret and the cylinder connector, whereas the axis of rotation of the swivel turret is perpendicular to the body axis, thus enabling by preferable arrangement of low pressure LP ports and high pressure HP ports of the body, and preferable arrangement of low pressure LP ports in the swivel turret and proper hose configuration at any possible equipment configuration by using the same first-stage regulator.
PRESSURE REDUCER AND SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS
A pressure reducer for a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is provided. The pressure reducer includes a body including an outer surface. The pressure reducer further includes a valve unit configured to receive a breathable gas from a high-pressure tank at a tank pressure and to deliver the breathable gas at an outlet pressure lower than the tank pressure. The pressure reducer further includes a plurality of vent holes extending from the outer surface. The plurality of vent holes is configured to vent a gas from an interior of the body. The pressure reducer further includes a cover removably disposed on the outer surface and enclosing the plurality of vent holes. The cover includes a fluid passage disposed in fluid communication with the plurality of vent holes. The fluid passage is configured to receive the gas from the plurality of vent holes and discharge the gas externally of the cover.
Regulator having removable first stage orifice body
A first stage pressure regulator is provided. A valve body has an inlet and an outlet that define a pressure chamber therebetween. The valve body defines a pressure compensation chamber having an opening fluidly communicating the pressure compensation chamber with the surrounding water. The first stage pressure regulator comprises an inlet tubular union removably received into the inlet. A removable high pressure orifice body defines an orifice therethrough. The orifice body is carried by the valve body proximate the inlet. A valve seat is within the valve body.
SEMI-CLOSED CIRCUIT UNDERWATER BREATHING APPARATUS RATIO REGULATOR
An apparatus for adjusting the partial pressure of gaseous mixtures comprises a housing and piston. The housing defines a chamber coupled to an oxygen metering orifice, diluent metering orifice, vent port and gas outlet. The oxygen metering orifice provides oxygen to the chamber and the diluent metering orifice provides diluent gas to the chamber. The piston is movably positioned in the chamber and includes first and second sealing devices. The chamber is sectioned into a mixing chamber, a diluent chamber and a reference chamber located between the mixing chamber and diluent chamber. The diluent chamber receives a diluent gas referenced at ambient pressure and the reference chamber is charged with a gas having a reference pressure. The piston changes positions within the chamber depending on a force balance created by a pressure differential between the reference pressure and ambient pressure.
COUPLING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE TO ENABLE FLUID COMMUNICATION BETWEEN A MULTI-PORT MECHANICAL SWITCH AND A PRIMARY DIVE REGULATOR
The embodiments shown provide a coupling apparatus and method of use to enable fluid communication between a multi-port mechanical switch and a primary dive regulator. The apparatus includes a grooved portion configured to be releasably attached to a multi-port mechanical switch and a leading edge dimensioned to be releasably secured onto a primary dive regulator. The method includes providing the apparatus with the multi-port mechanical switch and primary dive regulator and compressing or extending onto the first end into the multi-port mechanical switch, and extending a second end onto a primary dive regulator to create a hermetically sealed channel for fluid communication through the apparatus.
Bi-Directional Regulator System for Simultaneous High-Pressure Filling and Low-Pressure Depleting of Gas Tank
An attachable, detachable pressure reducing regulator for use with a primary high-pressure gas source, wherein the high-pressure chamber of said regulator includes a secondary gas IN portal, with a one-way valve, through which the primary container source may be refilled from an external gas source, via the high-pressure chamber of the said regulator, either independently of or concurrently during its use as a pressure reducing regulator.
CONNECTION SYSTEM COMPRISING A CLOSING DEVICE FOR DIVING REGULATOR
A connection system, in particular for a pressure reducer of a diving regulator, the system comprising a connector (1) having a first end (2) adapted to be fastened to a pressure reducer and a second end (2′) adapted to be fastened to a valve of a compressed air cylinder, said connector (1) having an internal passage (4) extending substantially axially between said first and second ends, said internal passage (4) including a filter (5), preferably made of sintered stainless steel, and a retaining member (6a; 6b; 6c; 6c′; 6d; 6e) fastened to said second end (2′) and supporting firstly said filter (5) and secondly a main O-ring (7; 9e), said retaining member (6a; 6b; 6c; 6c′; 6d; 6e) forming an inlet opening, said system including a shutter device comprising a shutter member (9a; 9b; 9c: 9c′; 9d; 9e) that is deformable and/or movable between a shut position in which it shuts said inlet opening, and an open position in which it does not shut said inlet opening, said shutter member (9a; 9b; 9c: 9c′; 9d; 9e) being urged resiliently towards its shut position and being deformed and/or shifted towards its open position by compressed air coming from said compressed air cylinder, said shutter member (9a; 9b; 9c: 9c′; 9d; 9e) being deformed and/or shifted towards its open position in a direction extending substantially transversely relative to the flow direction of the compressed air stream.
