TAMPER-EVIDENT BAND ASSEMBLY
20170217653 · 2017-08-03 ·

A two-piece tamper-evident band assembly for use with a container and closure combination, where the container has a peripheral collar and the closure has a skirt, is shown. The tamper-evident band assembly includes a breakaway band frangibly connected to a staying ring. The staying ring has decreased flexibility where it connects to the container and closure combination, which prevents the assembly from deforming in a manner that will cause the assembly to fail to indicate that the container has been opened. The tamper-evident band assembly also indicates whether the container has been compromised without requiring modification of the container or the closure and can be applied to existing container and closure combinations that lack a tamper-evident system, allowing the assembly to be used with a variety of container and closure combinations.

Foilless Caps

Disclosed herein are foilless caps. In an implementation, the foilless caps provide sealing of the container without the use of a foil and are environmentally friendly. In an implementation, the foilless caps include tamper evident mechanisms to provide evidence of prior or attempted use. In an implementation, the foilless caps further include tether mechanisms to prevent loss of the cap after opening. In an implementation, the foilless caps provide sealing and resealing of the container with enough closure to maintain freshness. In an implementation, the foilless caps provide a non-backoff feature which may include audible and tactile indications to the user that the container is closed. In an implementation, the foilless caps may provide mechanisms to hold an opened and tethered cap away from the container opening during use.

Apparatus and methods of forming and applying roll-on pilfer proof closures on the threaded neck of metal containers

Methods and apparatus for sealing a threaded container are provided. More specifically, the present invention relates to a ROPP closure with a novel pilfer band that may be used to seal a bottle shaped container without pressing directly against the bottle or deforming the bottle. The bottle includes an annular ring that is novel. Optionally, the annular ring can be formed without die necking or expanding the bottle neck. At least one protrusion which extends inwardly at least partially into the bottle annular ring is formed on the ROPP closure after the ROPP closure is positioned on the bottle neck. In one embodiment, the ROPP closure includes one inwardly oriented protrusion which extends around the circumference of the ROPP closure. The protrusion can be formed by a roller. Optionally, the protrusion has a substantially uniform depth. In another embodiment, the ROPP closure includes a plurality of individuals studs which each extend at least partially into the bottle annular ring. The individual studs can be formed by one or more of a punch, a stud roller, a studded rail, a collet actuated tool, and a cam actuated tool of embodiments of the present invention.

Closure for a container, a tamper indicating band, a combination and a method

A closure for a container, the closure comprising a top panel, a skirt extending from the periphery of the top panel, and a tamper indicating band frangibly connected to an open end of the skirt at a line of weakness, the band including a retaining segment (109) on an inner surface thereof so arranged, when the closure is in a closed position on a neck of the container, to engage under an engagement surface of a retaining structure arranged on the container neck, wherein the tamper indicating band includes at least one indent (117) arranged on an outer surface of the tamper indicating bond.

EXTENDED THREAD TAMPER BAND EVIDENCE

A tamper evidence closure assembly is provided for engaging with a finish of a container for sealing contents within an interior of a container. The assembly includes a finish and a tamper evidence closure configured to threadably engage with the finish. The finish comprises a cylindrical portion of the container that begins at an opening to the interior of the container and extends to and includes a support ledge. Threads are configured to engage with the finish. The tamper evidence closure includes a tamper evidence band that is attached to closure by way of a multiplicity of thin connections. The tamper evidence band includes a cam configured to engage with the finish during removal of the tamper evidence closure. The cam causes the thin connections to break such that the tamper evidence band remains disposed on the finish after removal of the tamper evidence closure.

Tamper evident closure

A closure (10) is provided. The closure (10) comprises a body portion (20) having engagement means (45) for engagement with a container(15), and a shell for engagement with the body portion (20), wherein the shell comprises securing means (80) arranged in use to secure the engagement means (45) onto the container(15). The container (15) may be a bottle. The body portion (20) may be a pourer fitment. The engagement means (45) may comprise at least one clip. The securing means (80) may comprise a bead.

Fresh-keeping bottle

A fresh-keeping bottle includes a volumetric bottle having a bottle cap, a bottle body and a base. The upper end of the bottle body has a liquid squeezing outlet. The lower part of the bottle body is fixed with the base that includes a flexible bottle bottom and a cylindrical support. The upper edge of the bottle bottom is fixed in the inner wall of the cylindrical support. The liquid can be squeezed from the fresh-keeping bottle by pressing with a single hand without leakage. Solid and liquid materials can be separately packed at the upper and lower parts of a package bottle through tinfoil, which is punctured through sharp protrusion of the bottle bottom to mix the solid and liquid materials. The bottle keeps the powder fresh in transmission and storage and can simply mix the solid and liquid material together without needing special work when in use.

An apparatus for securing a vessel includes a primary cap having a threaded portion that is configured to selectively engage corresponding threads of a vessel to secure the primary cap to the vessel, and at least one projection. The apparatus further includes a removable secondary cap configured to engage the primary cap to secure the vessel, the secondary cap including at least one lug, the lug having a shear zone that contacts the projection when the primary and secondary caps are engaged and secured to a vessel. When the secondary cap is removed from the primary cap, the shear zone is broken by the projection such that the secondary cap cannot by reinstalled on the primary cap.

Closure

A flip-top dispensing closure is provided and comprises a base connectable to a container neck and a lid connected to the base by a hinge so as to be movable between a closed position and an open position. The closure comprises a tamper-evident drop band irreversibly moved from a first position to a second position to indicate if the lid has been opened. The lid comprises retention means for non-frangibly holding the band in the first position in an initial closed position, and as the lid is moved towards the open position the band is released from the retention means and moves to the second position.
