An insulating container having a base and a lid is provided. In some examples, the insulating container further includes a pressure regulation device. In other examples, the insulating container may include latching devices comprising an elastomeric latch upper and a semi-rigid latch lower configured to engage an insulating container keeper when the lid is in a closed and a secured position. In still other examples, the latch upper and the latch lower are configured in a recessed position, and flush with a front side of the insulating container lid and flush with a front side of a bottom portion of the insulating container when the latches secure the lid in a closed position.

A container closure comprises an annular region forming a counterface against which a gas permeable, liquid impermeable sealing element may be applied so as to urge the sealing element into sealing engagement with the rim of a container opening. The annular region comprises a gas pathway from an interior space opposite the container opening to the exterior of the annular region. The gas pathway may be of closed cross-section extending through the annular region. Alternatively the gas pathway may be of open-sided cross-section and provided in the counterface. Yet alternatively the annular region may comprise a washer, with the gas pathway provided at least partly in the washer and/or at least partly in the remainder of the annular region. A gas permeable, liquid impermeable sealing foil for bonding to a container rim is also disclosed.

The present invention relates to a method for channeling gas during sealing a container with a closure means and/or unsealing a container that is sealed with a closure means, comprising the steps of: A) providing a closure means comprising: a) a lid assembly having: a lid cover, configured to provide an upper plate and a lower plate connecting said upper plate via standing wall therebetween, said upper plate is provided with at least one hinge member; at least one wing member, pivotably connecting to said lid cover at said hinge member, comprising a handling portion, a flipping portion, and a stopper portion for limiting the upward pivoting of said wing member with respect to said lid cover by engaging with said upper plate of said lid cover; and a gas channeling means; and b) a sealing element, fittingly mounted around said standing wall of said lid cover; and B) providing a container having surrounding wall having a first edge connecting to a bottom and a second edge defining an open-top for said container, wherein said second edge is configured to support said flipping portion of said wing member; and characterized in that, gas being channeled through said gas channeling means, during closing said container with said closure means and/or opening said container that is closed with said closure means.

Insulating container

The lid may be rotatable about a hinge from a closed configuration to an open configuration and may be secured, via one or more latching devices, in the closed configuration. In some examples, the insulating container further includes a pressure regulation device. In other examples, the latching devices further include an elastomeric latch upper and a semi-rigid latch lower configured to engage an insulating container keeper when the lid is in a closed and a secured position. In still other examples, the latch upper and the latch lower are configured in a recessed position, and flush with a front side of the insulating container lid and flush with a front side of a bottom portion of the insulating container when the latch device secures the lid in a closed position.

SEALABLE CONTAINER SYSTEM WITH LID CLIPS AND BODY DIVOTS

A sealable container system contains a body and a lid assembly. The body includes an internal volume defined by bottom and side wall(s) and divot(s) with a cavity in an inside surface of the side wall. The lid assembly includes clips(s) and a lid with outer and inner walls at its bottom side with a channel in-between. A wall portion of a gasket reside within the channel and a lip resides outside the channel. When the lid assembly is pressed into the body, the gasket lip abuts the divots and forms a gap with the side wall, where air in the internal volume exits through the gap. When the lip travels past the divots, the lip fully seats against the side wall, imparting negative air pressure to the internal volume of the body, and the clip(s) apply pressure to the side wall(s) of the body.

An insulated cooler having an insulated bottom, an insulated peripheral wall, and an insulated lid is disclosed. The peripheral wall may extend up from the bottom to define an interior space of the cooler. The lid, pivotally attached to the peripheral wall, may be pivotable to a closed position engaging the peripheral wall to close the interior space. A vent passage may extend through the peripheral wall or the lid, communicating the interior space with an exterior of the cooler to prevent formation of a vacuum in the cooler. A retaining frame may be attached to the peripheral wall or the lid at a location on the peripheral wall or the lid corresponding to a location of the vent passage. An air-impermeable, water-impermeable material layer may block the vent passage. The material layer may be positioned between the retaining frame and the interior space of the cooler.

Storage container with clip

A storage container comprising a container base having an upper opening defined by a peripheral top edge of the base; a removable lid with a circumferential seal, wherein the lid sealingly sits across the upper opening of the base; and a clip mounted to the base to rotate between an engaged position whereby the clip engages the lid against removal, and a disengaged position; wherein the clip includes a contact surface that as the clip rotates from the engaged position to the disengaged position, the contact surface is moved to lift the lid.
