Elevator Car Door Control System

An elevator car door control system includes a clutch and an interlock assembly. The clutch may include a stationary base and a slidable base movably attached to the stationary base. The stationary base may be adapted for attachment to a car door of an elevator car. The interlock assembly may include a locking arm operatively connected to the slidable base of the clutch and moveable from a locked position preventing translation relative to the elevator car to an unlocked position. When the car door is in a closed position, a door opening sequence may commence causing the slidable base to move relative to the car door, but the car door will only open if the slidable base presses against an object, such as a roller on a hoistway door, in which case the locking arm of the interlock assembly moves from the locked to the unlocked position.

A door interlock associated with a landing door at each of the landings is configured to couple the associated landing door with the car door. The door interlocks respectively include a lock switch. A controller is configured to: cause the elevator car to move to at least one of the landings; when the elevator car is at the at least one landing, cause the door mover to instigate movement of the door interlock sufficient to at least temporarily change a position of the lock switch; and locate a malfunctioning one of the lock switches at one of the landings based on the movement of the door interlock.

SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING A SERVICE ACCESS ASSOCIATED WITH AN ELEVATOR CAR

A system for controlling service access associated with an elevator car includes a divider configured to divide an elevator shaft into a plurality of service access zones; and a controller configured to control a locking state of at least one service access from inside the elevator car to the elevator shaft based on a service access zone of the plurality of service access zones at which the elevator car is located.

A method of accessing a hoistway of an elevator system, includes approaching a landing floor door of the elevator system, the landing floor door positioned at the hoistway, and initiating communication between an access device and a door lock of the landing floor door via non-contact interaction between the access device and the door lock. The door lock is deactivated via the non-contact interaction between the access device and the door lock.
