Metal sulfide filled carbon nanotubes and synthesis methods thereof
Filled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and methods of synthesizing the same are provided. An in situ chemical vapor deposition technique can be used to synthesize CNTs filled with metal sulfide nanowires. The CNTs can be completely and continuously filled with the metal sulfide fillers up to several micrometers in length. The filled CNTs can be easily collected from the substrates used for synthesis using a simple ultrasonication method.

Sulfur-carbon composite and method for preparing same
A method for preparing a sulfur-carbon composite including: (a) stirring a porous carbon material in a solvent mixture including a carbonate-based compound and a volatile solvent and then drying; and (b) mixing the dried porous carbon material with sulfur and then depositing the sulfur in and on the porous carbon material by a heat melting method. A method for preparing a sulfur-carbon composite including: (a) mixing and stirring a porous carbon material and sulfur in a solvent mixture including a carbonate-based compound and a volatile solvent and then drying; and (b) depositing the sulfur in and on the porous carbon material by a heat melting method. In the sulfur-carbon composite, sulfur present in and on the porous carbon material, a proportion of β-monoclinic sulfur phase to sulfur contained in the sulfur-carbon composite is 90% or more based on a total molar ratio of sulfur.

DISCRETE CARBON NANOTUBES WITH TARGETED OXIDATION LEVELS AND FORMULATIONS THEREOF
Discrete, individualized carbon nanotubes having targeted, or selective, oxidation levels and/or content on the interior and exterior of the tube walls are claimed. Such carbon nanotubes can have little to no inner tube surface oxidation, or differing amounts and/or types of oxidation between the tubes' inner and outer surfaces. These new discrete carbon nanotubes are useful in plasticizers, which can then be used as an additive in compounding and formulation of elastomeric, thermoplastic and thermoset composite for improvement of mechanical, electrical and thermal properties.
Carbon nanotubes
Provided are carbon nanotubes that allow effective utilization of the insides thereof as-synthesized, without undergoing opening formation treatment. The provided carbon nanotubes have not undergone opening formation treatment and exhibit a convex upward shape in a t-plot obtained from an adsorption isotherm.
Method for obtaining graphene oxide
A method for obtaining graphene oxide is provided comprising the steps of a) adding an acid and a salt to graphite for obtaining a graphite oxide, and b) exfoliating the graphite oxide by mixing it, wherein the steps a) and b) are carried out simultaneously in a high shear mixer.
CARBON NANOTUBE AGGREGATE
A carbon nanotube aggregate includes a plurality of carbon nanotubes, a metal compound, and an oxide of the metal compound. The metal compound is contained in a space inside of each of the carbon nanotubes and/or in a space defined between the plurality of carbon nanotubes. When the metal compound is added inside the carbon nanotube aggregate, the metal compound is oxidized by reacting with oxygen or the like during or after a production process of the CNT aggregate, and the oxide is formed in the opening of the space to which the metal compound is added, so that the metal compound is capped with the oxide. Since the metal compound inside the CNT aggregate is shielded from the atmosphere, separation of the metal compound and reaction between the metal compound and oxygen and water in the atmosphere are suppressed, increasing heat resistance of the carbon nanotube aggregate.
CARBON MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBON MATERIAL
The present disclosure provides a carbon material including a carbon-containing layer having opening parts; and a solid body provided so as to cover the opening parts of the carbon-containing layer, in which the solid body has hole parts communicating with the opening parts.
