PASTE COMPOSITION FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
An additive manufacturing paste composition for manufacturing a three-dimensional shaped article of a material of interest, said paste composition including 70-99.8 wt. % with respect to the weight of the composition of particles of the material of interest, the material of interest being one or more compounds selected from the group of metals and metal alloys and mixtures thereof, at least one binder component, at least one additive component, which is a lubricant, one or more solvents which are miscible with each other, wherein the sum of the concentration of the at least one additive component and the at least one binder is between 0.06 wt. % and 10.0 wt. %, with respect to the weight of the paste composition, and wherein at least one of the additive component and the binder component or the mixture thereof are shear-thinning.
NITROGEN-CONTAINING POROUS CARBON MATERIAL, AND CAPACITOR AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A nitrogen-containing porous carbon material, and a capacitor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. A carbon material, a macromolecular material and a modified material are mixed into a preform. The modified material includes nitrogen. A formation process is performed on the preform to obtain a formed object. High-temperature sintering is performed on the formed object to decompose and remove a part of the macromolecular material, while the other part of the macromolecular material and the carbon material together form a backbone structure including a plurality of pores. As such, the nitrogen becomes attached to the backbone structure to form a hydrogen-containing functional group to further obtain the nitrogen-containing porous carbon material. The nitrogen-containing porous carbon material may form a first nitrogen-containing porous carbon plate and a second nitrogen-containing porous carbon plate, which are placed in seawater to form a storage capacitor for seawater.
A MOLDING MATERIAL FOR PRODUCING CARBON CLUSTERS AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THEREOF
A molding material for producing the carbon clusters using biomass as the main raw material, comprising the biomass and a binder as the derived raw material, wherein the molding material is graphitized, the electrical resistivity of the molding material is equal to or less than 100 μΩm, the diffraction pattern of the molding material by powder X-ray diffraction method has one peak between 2θ(θ is the Bragg angle) of 26 to 27°, and the value of ⅓ width divided by the base of the peak is equal to or less than 0.68. The method for producing the molding material for producing the carbon clusters according to any of claims 1 to 6, comprising following steps of: obtaining a molded precursor containing a calcined biomass and a binder; optionally, further baking the precursor; and graphitizing the precursor at a temperature of 2500° C. or higher.
LASER ASSISTED SOLID FREEFORM FABRICATION OF CERAMIC MATERIALS VIA TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE SLURRIES
Disclosed embodiments relate to gelling aqueous ceramic slurries with temperature using laser-assisted free-forming to provide a break-through of rapidly making ceramics from slurries and computer assisted design files. Methods according to various embodiments are superior to any other since no toxic materials are used. The slurries are made with edible and safe compounds.
Composites of sintered mullite reinforced corundum granules and method for its preparation
The present disclosure relates to a composite of sintered mullite reinforced corundum granules and a method for its preparation. The composite comprises mullite and corundum in an interlocking microstructure. The process for preparing the composite involves the steps of admixing the raw materials followed by sintering to obtain the composite comprising sintered mullite reinforced corundum granules.
BORON/BORON CARBIDE POWDER, CHOPPED CARBON FIBER AND CARBON BASED COMPOSITES FOR HEAT SINKS
A method of fabricating a brake component is disclosed. In various embodiments, the method includes preparing a mixture comprising a chopped fiber material, a boron-based powder and a binder; applying a pressure to the mixture while in a die to form a preform; and densifying the preform via a chemical vapor infiltration process to form a densified component.
Method of making a fiber preform for ceramic matrix composite (CMC) fabrication
A method of making a fiber preform for ceramic matrix composite (CMC) fabrication that utilizes a fugitive binder and a machining step is described. The method includes, according to one embodiment, laying up a plurality of plies to form a stack, where each ply comprises an arrangement of fibers. The stack is infiltrated with a polymer at an elevated temperature to form an infiltrated stack that is cooled to form a rigid preform. The rigid fiber preform is machined to have a predetermined shape, such that a machined fiber preform is formed. A composite assembly including the machined fiber preform is formed and then the composite assembly is heated at a sufficient temperature to pyrolyze the polymer. Thus, a porous preform of a predetermined geometry is formed for further processing into a CMC.
