Urethane-crosslinked biodegradable elastomers

Among other things, the present disclosure provides compositions and methods for an elastomeric cross-linked polyester material. Such an elastomeric cross-linked polyester material, in some embodiments, comprises a plurality of polymeric units of the general formula (-A-B-).sub.p, wherein p is an integer greater than 1; and a plurality of urethane cross-links each of which covalently links two polymeric units to one another, which two linked polymeric unit each had at least one free hydroxyl or amino group prior to formation of the crosslink.

VEHICLE WIPER BLADE

A vehicle wiper blade comprises a blade support part and a lip part coupled swingably with the blade support part via a neck. The lip part comprises polyurethane. The polyurethane comprises a reactant of a composition including an isocyanate compound which includes diisocyanate and tri- or higher functional polyfunctional isocyanate, and an alcohol which includes tri- or higher functional polyfunctional alcohol. The diisocyanate has an aromatic ring in a molecule. When a molecule of the polyurethane is ionized with a mass spectrometer of a direct sample injection system, then obtained M1, M2 and M3 satisfy the following relation: M2/M1 is 0.001 to 0.028, M3/M1 is 0.020 to 0.110, and M2/M3 is 0.013 to 0.300, and a concentration of the polyfunctional alcohol in the polyurethane is 0.12 mmol/g to 0.65 mmol/g.

The present disclosure relates to methods for making polyols, esters, and surfactants. Generally, a carboxyl-containing molecule is reacted with an epoxide-containing molecule to obtain a hydroxylated ester. If multiple epoxide groups are present in the epoxide-containing molecule, the resulting molecule can also be considered a polyol. The hydroxyl groups can be further ethoxylated to obtain a surfactant/stabilizer.

Skin contact adhesive and methods for its preparation and use

A crosslinkable composition is useful for preparing a skin contact adhesive or a coating on a substrate. The crosslinkable composition includes (A) a polyurethane-polyorganosiloxane copolymer and (B) a curing catalyst. The skin contact adhesive prepared by crosslinking the crosslinkable composition is useful in applications such as adhesives for medical tapes, adhesives for wound dressings, adhesives for prosthetics, ostomy appliance adhesives, adhesives for medical monitoring appliances, adhesives for scar therapy treatments, adhesives for cosmetic patches, and transdermal drug delivery systems.
