The radical B has at least one ester group.

Method for producing an aminimide

Disclosed herein are methods of preparing an aminimide. An epoxy compound is reacted with a hydrazine compound comprising a trivalent nitrogen, and an anhydride functional material or a cyclic compound containing a carbonyl group and at least one heteroatom alpha to the carbonyl group at a temperature greater than 20° C. to form the aminimide. At least one of the epoxy compound and the anhydride functional material or the cyclic compound is polymeric.

RECOVERY AND REUSE OF ACID DIGESTED AMINE/EPOXY-BASED COMPOSITE MATRICES

A method for recycling matrix residues includes steps of degrading a target epoxy to form matrix residues, collecting the matrix residues, and adding the matrix residues into a polymer-forming formulation. Characteristically, the polymer-forming formulation includes multifunctional anhydride monomers and polyfunctional co-reactant monomers.

Modified epoxy resin immobilized enzyme, preparation method therefor and application thereof

Disclosed are a modified epoxy resin immobilized enzyme, a preparation method therefor and an application thereof. Herein, the preparation method includes the following steps: modifying an epoxy resin, adding a polyethyleneimine to a modified epoxy resin for further modification, and then adding an enzyme to be immobilized and a glutaraldehyde for immobilization, to obtain the modified epoxy resin immobilized enzyme. The epoxy resin is modified, the polyethyleneimine is added to the modified epoxy resin for the further modification, and an aldehyde group in the resin and an amino group in the polyethyleneimine are covalently bound to each enzyme, then it is activated by the bifunctional reagent glutaraldehyde.

Structural adhesive compositions

An adhesive composition comprising an epoxy compound and a compound comprising at least one aminimide functional group is disclosed. The compound comprising the at least one aminimide functional group is present in an amount from 2-8% by weight based on total weight of the adhesive composition and reacts with the epoxy compound upon activation by an external energy source. The adhesive composition also may comprise an amidine salt.

Polyol polymers, methods of preparing such polymers, and coating compositions containing the same

A polyol polymer is obtained from reactants including: a) a non-aromatic epoxy functional compound that includes at least 30 weight % of the total solids weight of the reactants; and b) an aromatic mono-carboxylic acid functional compound, or anhydride thereof, that is substantially free of non-aromatic ethylenic unsaturation. The polyol polymer has ester linkages and hydroxyl functional groups. Further, if the reactants further include an aromatic polycarboxylic acid, the aromatic polycarboxylic acid makes up less than 15 weight % of the total solids weight of the reactants. A coating composition is also prepared with the polyol polymer.
