Methods of making foams exhibiting desired properties from aromatic polyester polyether polyols derived from polyethylene terephthalates and foams made therefrom
The disclosure relates to methods of making foams comprising aromatic polyester polyether polyol materials derived from the transesterification of polyethylene terephthalate with either glycerin or trimethylolpropane, wherein each of these triols, independently, has a degree of ethoxylation of from 1 to 9. Uses of the foams are further disclosed. The disclosure further relates to selection of blowing agents suitable to generate a selected end use case. Yet further, the disclosure relates to selection of end uses, properties, and environmental profiles of the foams generated according to the methods herein, and selecting formulation variables suitable to obtain the foams.
POLYMERS, METHOD FOR FABRICATING POLYMERS, AND PRODUCTS INCLUDING POLYMERS
A biodegradable polymer usable in fishing gear and that biodegrades in aquatic environments. The polymer includes a polymer backbone that has monomeric units that are susceptible to hydrolytic degradation, and a plurality of pH responsive moieties. Each pH responsive moiety is grafted to a respective one of the monomeric units. The pH responsive moieties are relatively hydrophilic when exposed to an aqueous solution of a pro-biodegradation pH range to facilitate hydrolytic degradation of the monomeric units, and are relatively hydrophobic when removed from the aqueous solution of the pro-biodegradation pH range, to protect the monomeric units from hydrolytic degradation.
POLY(AMINE-CO-ESTER) POLYMERS WITH MODIFIED END GROUPS AND ENHANCED PULMONARY DELIVERY
Poly(amine-co-ester) polymers, methods of forming active agent-load polyplexes and particles therefrom, and methods of using them for delivery of nucleic acid agents with optimal uptake have been developed. Examples demonstrate critical molecular weights in combination with exposed carboxylic and/or hydroxyl groups, and methods of making. Typically, the compositions are less toxic, more efficient at drug delivery, or a combination thereof compared to a control other transfection reagents. In some embodiments, the compositions are suitable for in vivo delivery, and can be administered systemically to a subject to treat a disease or condition. For poly(amine-co-ester) polymers with specific amine or hydroxyl group containing end-groups in admixture with PEGylated poly(amine-co-ester) polymers, in vivo delivery to the lung by inhalation has been shown.
ESTER COMPOUND AND RESIN COMPOSITION
Compounds containing, in one molecule thereof, a structure represented by formula (1), a structure represented by formula (2), and a structure represented by formula (3) (all the symbols are those described in the specification).

are useful as epoxy resin curing agents.
Flexible container coating compositions
A coating composition includes: (a) 60 to 90 percent by weight of an active hydrogen-containing polyester having a number average molecular weight of at least 23,000, an acid value below 5 and a hydroxyl value below 10, (b) 0.1 to 10 percent by weight of a polyanhydride, and (c) 5 to 30 percent by weight of a curing agent reactive with the active hydrogens associated with (a) and (b), the percentages being based on weight of resin solids of the coating composition, where the reaction product of the coating composition forms a single coating without including a thermoplastic polymer. The coating composition is useful in coating food and beverage containers, particularly 2-piece cans formed by drawing and redrawing (DRD).
AUTONOMOUSLY GROWING IMPLANTABLE DEVICE
An implantable, autonomously growing medical device is disclosed. The device may have an outer, braided outer element that holds an inner core. Degradation and/or softening of the inner core permits the outer element to elongate, allowing the device to grow with surrounding tissue. The growth profile of the medical device can be controlled by altering the shape/material/cure conditions of the inner core, as well as the geometry of the out element.
MICHAEL ADDITION CURABLE COMPOSITION, COATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME, AND COATED ARTICLE
The present application relates to a Michael Addition curable composition, coating composition containing the same and coated article made therefrom. In particular, the Michael Addition curable composition comprises at least one reactive donor capable of providing two or more nucleophilic carbanions; at least one reactive acceptor comprising two or more carbon-carbon double bonds; and at least one catalyst for catalyzing a Michael Addition crosslinking reaction between the at least one reactive donor and the at least one reactive acceptor, wherein the at least one reactive donor comprises at least one branched polyester comprising at least one polyester backbone and at least one —C(O)—CH.sub.2—C(O)-moiety; wherein the at least one polyester backbone is derived from an alcohol component comprising at least one alcohol having at least three hydroxyl groups; and wherein the at least one branched polyester has a —C(O)—CH.sub.2—C(O)-moiety equivalent of no more than 700 g/mol.
IMPROVED POLYESTER
The invention provides a method for the production of a cross-linked polyester moulded article.
Amorphous polyester composition and method of making
An amorphous polyester or copolyester composition comprises the reaction product of a crystalline or semicrystalline polyester or copolyester, optionally derived from a recycled waste stream, at least one diol or aromatic diacid or an ester of a diacid or a hydroxycarboxylic acid or a lactone or a dianhydride, and a catalyst, wherein the amorphous composition has a weight average molecular weight of at least 10,000 g/mol (polystyrene equivalent molecular weight) as measured by gel permeation chromatography.
HIGH DENSITY POLYESTER PRODUCT, COMPOSITION AND USE
The present invention relates to a polyester product having a relatively high atypical density of greater than 1 g/cm.sup.3 at 25° C., the polyester product comprises the reaction product of one or more C2 to C12 polybasic acid and one or more polyol. The invention also relates to methods of making the polyester product, compositions containing or comprising the polyester product and the use of such compositions. More especially, the polyester containing compositions may advantageously be utilised in aqueous environment applications, or other applications, where environmental containment is an important consideration.
