The present invention relates to a resin composition comprising: a base resin comprising a petroleum resin of which at least a part is hydrogenated or non-hydrogenated; and an additive comprising a modified C.sub.9 polymer having a structure in which a molecular weight modifier binds to at least one terminal of the two terminals of the petroleum resin of which at least a part is hydrogenated or non-hydrogenated. The present invention also relates to a gas barrier film comprising the resin composition, and a tire.
Cationomeric polyolefin compositions and methods for production and use thereof
Although polyolefin elastomers are widely employed commodity polymers, there are shortcomings of this class of polymers for certain applications. For example, the rheological properties of some polyolefin elastomers may be insufficient to provide the green strength or low shear viscosity necessary to form stable foams, or to provide sufficient viscosity modification effects when present in a solvent. Cationomeric modification of polyolefin elastomers may alleviate these difficulties. Such polyolefin elastomers may feature a random cationomeric polyolefin copolymer comprising at least a first monomer and a second monomer, in which the first monomer is a neutral monomer and the second monomer has a side chain bearing a cationic moiety. The polyolefin elastomers may be present in foamed polyolefin compositions comprising a gas component and/or in liquid compositions comprising a solvent in which the polyolefin elastomer is dissolved.
Surface protection articles and methods
Painting in commercial, residential, and retail environments requires extreme care to avoid paint being deposited where it is not required. Drop cloths are commonly used to protect a floor or furniture during the painting process. However, these are generally simply plastic sheets to provide a barrier to the liquid paint and nothing more. Accordingly, it would be advantageous to provide a drop sheet or tarp that supports a liquid material drying process such as by dehydration, coagulate, etc. or form solid materials thereby reducing the instances of subsequent paint transfer from the drop sheet or tarp directly or indirectly to other surfaces and/or objects. It would also be advantageous to drop sheet or tarp that provides a non-slip surface which prevents the drop sheet from sliding around and remains well in place without additional weights, tape, etc.
Sealant comprising a polymeric composition including a lower critical solution temperature compound
The invention relates to an efficient process for the preparation and isolation of rubber particles formed in aqueous media and highly pure rubbers obtained thereby. The invention further relates to copolymer products comprising the same or derived therefrom.
PAINT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PAINT, AND PAINTED ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PAINTED ARTICLE
A coating material of the present invention is a coating material containing: a fluorine-containing polymer having at least one of an iodine atom and a bromine atom; and a solvent, wherein a storage elastic modulus G′ of the fluorine-containing polymer is less than 360 kPa, and a total light transmittance of a mixed liquid obtained by mixing and stirring the fluorine-containing polymer and the solvent contained in the coating material is 1.0% or more, the mixed liquid being left to stand for 3 days, stirred again, and left to stand for 30 minutes to measure the total light transmittance.
METHOD FOR MODIFYING EXPANDABLE CURING MEMBRANES FOR MANUFACTURING TYRES
A process for modifying an expandable curing bladder for a tire, which bladder has a surface intended to come into contact with a tire casing is provided. The process comprises a step of applying to the surface a layer of a silicone rubber composition comprising a first liquid organopolysiloxane bearing chain-end alkenyl groups, a second liquid organohydropolysiloxane and a photoactivatable hydrosilylation catalyst, and a step of exposing the silicone rubber composition covering the surface to irradiation with ultraviolet-visible light.
Heat conduction sheet, method of manufacturing heat conduction sheet, and heat dissipating device
A heat conduction sheet, includes at least one kind of graphite particle (A) selected from the group consisting of scale-like particles, ellipsoidal particles and rod-like particles; a polymer (B) having an isobutylene structure; an ethylene-propylene copolymer (C); and an ethylene octene elastomer (D), in which, in a case of scale-like particles, a plane direction of the particle is oriented in a thickness direction of the heat conduction sheet, and in a case of ellipsoidal particles or rod-like particles, a long axis direction of the particle is oriented in the thickness direction of the heat conduction sheet.
TIRE COMPONENT
A tire component is disclosed that is made of a thermoplastic composition that is based upon a cross-linkable composition. The composition includes, per 100 parts by weight of the thermoplastic elastomer, 100 phr of a thermoplastic elastomer, wherein the thermoplastic elastomer is a block copolymer that comprises an elastomer block and a hard thermoplastic block. The elastomer block is a diene elastomer and the hard thermoplastic block has a glass transition temperature greater than 80° C. The composition further includes a reinforcing filler and a curing system. In particular embodiments the reinforcing filler may be carbon black, silica or combinations thereof.
ENCAPSULATION FILM
The present application relates to an encapsulation film, an organic electronic device comprising the same, and a method for manufacturing an organic electronic device using the same, which provides an encapsulation film having excellent reliability that allows forming a structure capable of blocking moisture or oxygen flowing into an organic electronic device from the outside, absorbs and disperses the stress according to panel bending, while preventing generation of bright spots in the organic electronic device.
ULTRAFILTRATION OF POLYISOOLEFIN COPOLYMERS AND POLYISOOLEFIN COPOLYMERS WITH REDUCED OLIGOMER CONTENT
A method of separating a polyisoolefin elastomer from non-polymeric components in an organic solvent involves ultrafiltration of a solution of the polyisoolefin elastomer and non-polymeric components in an organic solvent through a semipermeable membrane to substantially retain the polyisoolefin elastomer in a retentate and provide the non-polymeric components in a permeate. Advantageously, stabilizers for the polyisoolefin elastomer are retained in the retentate along with the polyisoolefin elastomer, permeate flux through the membrane is higher as concentration of the polyisoolefin elastomer in the solution increases up to a concentration limit, the separated polyisoolefin elastomer in the retentate has a molecular weight that can be substantially unchanged even when ultrafiltration is conducted at elevated temperature and the amount of polyisoolefin elastomer in the permeate is unmeasurable providing an oligomer-rich permeate uncontaminated by polyisoolefin elastomer. A process for curing a polyisoolefin copolymer involves reducing content of an oligomer to 900 ppm or less in a mixture of the oligomer and the polyisoolefin copolymer to produce an oligomer-depleted mixture, and adding a resin cure system to the oligomer-depleted mixture to cure the polyisoolefin copolymer.
