A blend suitable for use in a release layer of a multilayer protective film. The blends comprise greater than 50 wt. % of an ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer, a functionalized ethylene-based polymer, and an inorganic filler.
SEALING SHEET AND ADHESIVE TAPE FOR WET ROOMS
A sealing for arrangement between a wall and a wall covering includes a sealing sheet and an adhesive tape. The sealing sheet and the adhesive tape each have a carrier layer of a preferably closed-cell foam plastic. Furthermore, the sealing sheet can bear a nonwoven fabric preferably on the wall-facing side, wherein border strips remain free of the nonwoven fabric for underlapping with an adhesive tape.
METHOD FOR REDUCING THE WINDING LEVEL ADHESIVENESS OF AN ADHESIVE TAPE ROLL
The invention relates to a method for reducing end face stickiness of a roll (1) of adhesive tape, by supplying a precursor (18) to a plasma stream (20), using the plasma stream (20) enriched with the precursor (18) to coat a carrier film (2) with a passivation coat (3) in a plasma process, placing a carrier film section (5) by its passivation-coated side onto an end face (4) of the roll (1) of adhesive tape, removing the carrier film section (5) and leaving at least part of the passivation coat (6) on the end face (4) and reducing its end face stickiness.
ROOFING MEMBRANES AND RELATED METHODS
Some embodiments relate to a roofing membrane. The roofing membrane comprises a scrim. The scrim has a top surface and a bottom surface. The roofing membrane comprises a cap layer on the top surface of the scrim. The cap layer comprises a first non-styrenic polypropylene polymer, a first polypropylene impact copolymer, and a first olefin block copolymer. The roofing membrane comprises a core layer on the bottom surface of the scrim. The core layer comprises a second non-styrenic polypropylene polymer, a second polypropylene impact copolymer, and a second olefin block copolymer. The roofing membrane is configured to prevent migration of at least one oil from a layer to the roofing membrane. Some embodiments relate to a roofing structure comprising the roofing membrane, a method for installing the roofing membrane, and the like.
Degradable EVOH high-barrier composite film
A degradable EVOH high-barrier composite film, characterized in that the materials of various layers in the composite film all obtain approximately-consistent biodegradability by introducing biomass, and the additive amount of the additive master batch in the materials of each layer is controlled within the range of 0.3-15% of the total mass of the materials of the corresponding layer; the hydrophilic activity of the hydrophilic groups in the additive master batch should be greater than or equal to that of the hydrophilic groups in the materials of each layer; by adding the additive master batch, the mole ratios of the hydrophilic groups to carbon atoms of the materials of various layers tend to be consistent, namely, the bioactivities tend to be consistent, so that the degradation rates of the materials of various layers in the composite film tend to be consistent. The present invention makes contribution to obtaining approximately-consistent bioactivities and approximately-consistent biodegradation rates by balancing the mole ratios of the hydrophilic groups to carbon atoms in the materials of various layers, and the appearance, the functions and the physical and mechanical properties of a product remain unchanged.
ETHYLENE-VINYL ALCOHOL COPOLYMER COMPOSITION, AND MONOLAYER FILM AND MULTILAYER STRUCTURE CONTAINING THE SAME
The present invention relates to an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer composition, a single-layer film and a multilayer structure containing the same. Said ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer composition includes an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, an antioxidant, and a fluorine-containing compound; and the ratio of the antioxidant content to the fluorine content is 0.5 to 65. Thereby, the film containing said ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer composition not only has good heat resistance, but also can avoid the situation that a large number of gels are generated during the preparation process.
Floor coverings and floor covering systems and methods of making and installing same
Floor coverings having a greige good, an adhesive layer, and a secondary backing material. The greige good has a primary backing component having adjoined first and second portions, and a plurality of fibers. The secondary backing material has an attached portion and a first exposable portion, with the attached portion adhered to the first portion of the primary backing component by contact with the adhesive layer. The second portion of the primary backing component is unattached to the first exposable portion of the secondary backing material, and the first exposable portion defines a portion of the first end edge of the floor covering. The second portion of the primary backing component is selectively moveable relative to the first portion to a position in which at least a portion of the second portion of the primary backing component does not overlie the first exposable portion of the secondary backing material.
Siloxane tackifying resin layers as adhesion promotion agents
Layers of siloxane tackifying resins that do not contain siloxane fluids, gums or polymers act as adhesion promotion agents. Articles include a substrate layer, a non-tacky siloxane tackifying resin adhesion promotion layer disposed on the surface of the substrate layer, and a crosslinked siloxane layer in contact with the adhesion promotion layer. The crosslinked siloxane layer is not an adhesive layer. The adhesion of the crosslinked siloxane layer to the substrate is greater than the adhesion without the non-tacky siloxane tackifying adhesion promotion layer.
Dielectric-heating bonding film and bonding method using dielectric-heating bonding film
A dielectric welding film capable of achieving a tight welding through a short period of dielectric heating, and a welding method using the dielectric welding film are provided. The dielectric welding film is configured to weld a pair of adherends of the same material or different materials through dielectric heating, the dielectric welding film including a thermoplastic resin as an A component and a dielectric filler as a B component and satisfying the conditions (i) and (ii): (i) a melting point or softening point measured in accordance with JIS K 7121 (1987) is in a range from 80 to 200 degrees C.; and (ii) heat of fusion measured in accordance with JIS K 7121 (1987) is in a range from 1 to 80 J/g.
