THERMAL STORAGE SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present application pertains in some embodiments to a thermal storage system. The system may include, for example, a warm thermal storage region; a cold thermal storage region; and a physical divider. The warm thermal storage region may include at least two liquid phases. The cold thermal storage region may include at least one liquid phase. The physical divider substantially separates the warm thermal storage region from the cold thermal storage region.

An integrated industrial unit is provided, which can include: a nitrogen source comprising an air separation unit that is configured to provide pressurized gaseous nitrogen and liquid nitrogen; a hydrogen source; a hydrogen liquefaction unit, wherein the hydrogen liquefaction unit comprises a precooling system, and a liquefaction system; and a liquid hydrogen storage tank, wherein the precooling system is configured to receive the gaseous hydrogen from the hydrogen source and cool the gaseous hydrogen to a temperature between 70K and 100K, wherein the precooling system comprises a primary refrigeration system and a secondary refrigeration system, wherein the liquefaction system is in fluid communication with the precooling system and is configured to liquefy the gaseous hydrogen received from the precooling system to produce liquid hydrogen, wherein the liquid hydrogen storage tank is in fluid communication with the liquefaction system and is configured to store the liquid hydrogen received from the liquefaction system.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus and method which satisfies the below three requirements at once. (2) The composition ratio of mixed refrigerant is not changed when it is filled into a heat pump system. (3) Mixed refrigerant gets uniformly dispersed while circulating in a heat pump system. There is provided a mixed refrigerant producing apparatus comprising a base material container containing mixed refrigerant separated in gas and liquid phases, a gas-liquid mixing device capable of uniformly mixing the gas and liquid phases of the mixed refrigerant, a liquid-phase valve allowing the liquid phases of the mixed refrigerant in said base material container to be introduced into said gas-liquid mixing device, a gas-phase valve allowing the gas phases of the mixed refrigerant in said base material container to be introduced into said gas-liquid mixing device and an outlet valve allowing the mixed refrigerant in said gas-liquid mixing device to be filled into a small portable container, wherein said outlet valve opens when said gas-liquid mixing device has been operated during a predetermined time to uniformly mixing the mixed refrigerant contained therein.

A system and method of using a source of low-pressure refrigerant for a cryotherapy procedure. The system may generally include a fluid reservoir and a fluid flow path in thermal exchange with the fluid reservoir, the fluid flow path including a thermal exchange device in thermal exchange with the fluid reservoir, a compressor in fluid communication with the thermal exchange device, a condenser, a reversing valve located between the compressor and the condenser, and an expansion valve located between the condenser and the thermal exchange device. The method may include transferring a low-pressure refrigerant to a first fluid reservoir, reducing the temperature of the refrigerant within the first fluid reservoir, increasing the temperature of the refrigerant within the first fluid reservoir, and transferring the pressurized refrigerant from the first fluid reservoir to a second fluid reservoir.
