Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for a rosin press that allows improved extraction over existing presses. The press includes improved platens for rosin collection with built-in gutter rail collection systems and well-distributed force on the pressed product and multiple hydraulic rams. In addition, computerized systems are provided for controlling and monitoring the system in an automated fashion, as well as safety features to prevent injury and damage to the product, especially during automated pressing.

The devices include a pair of closable opposed jaws that can apply pressure to a herb placed between the jaws; a motor connected to the jaws for controlling the closing of the jaws, and, when closed, controlling the pressure produced between the jaws; a heater connected to the jaws for heating the jaws and herb; a housing in which the jaws, the motor, and the heater are housed; and a user interface connected to the jaws and the heater, the user interface for inputting a selection of temperature, pressure, and amount of time the temperature and pressure is applied to a herb positioned between the jaws to extract oil therefrom. Related computer-implemented methods of pressing a herb are also provided.

Described is a rosin press system for extracting rosin (oil) from plant material. The rosin press system includes a male plate with a male protrusion and a female plate formed to matingly receive the male protrusion. The plates can be heated such that when plant material is pressed between the plates, rosin is pressed from the plant material and allowed to drain from a drain hole positioned at the middle of the female plate.

METHOD FOR OBTAINING PROTEIN PREPARATIONS FROM SUNFLOWER AND/OR CANOLA OIL SEEDS, AND PROTEIN PREPARATION
The invention relates to a method for obtaining protein preparations from sunflower and/or canola seeds. At least the following steps are carried out: dehulling sunflower or canola seeds up to a shell content of <5 mass.%; partially deoiling the hulled sunflower or canola seeds in a mechanical manner by means of pressing up to a fat or oil content ranging between >7 and >35 mass.%; and carrying out one or more extraction steps using at least one organic solvent or supercritical CO2.
At least one of the extraction steps produces a further deoiling of the sunflower or canola seeds and is carried out after a previous comminution process or during a simultaneous comminution process of the pressed cake to a particle size of <2 mm or a flake thickness of <2 mm as a percolation or immersion extraction. By means of one extraction step or a plurality of the extraction steps, a deoiled protein-containing meal or granulate with a good protein digestibility is obtained as a protein preparation after a desolventization process.
ULTRASONIC-ASSISTED HEAT PRESS MACHINE AND USES THEREOF
An ultrasonic-assisted heat press machine, includes a frame, a material tank, an extruder, an ultrasonic wave generator, and a heater. The material tank is disposed on the frame and includes a cavity for accommodating an oil-bearing raw material. The extruder is extended in the cavity. The ultrasonic wave generator is disposed on the frame and adjacent to the material tank. The heater is disposed on the frame and adjacent to the material tank. The heater is configured to produce heat to heat the cavity and the ultrasonic wave generator, and regulate the working frequency of the ultrasonic wave generator. When in use, the heater, the extruder, and the ultrasonic wave generator cooperate to separate oil from the oil-bearing raw material in the material tank.
COMPUTERIZED ROSIN PRESS

PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR OBTAINING OIL FROM SEEDS
A process and a device for obtaining oil from seeds, wherein at least one of the parameters of moisture, fiber content and oil content of the pressed material is continuously measured and evaluated, thus making it possible to continuously control at least one of the following variables: moisture of the pressed material, speed of the press drive and amount of an extraction agent supplied. The oil yield can be increased, the fluctuations in the oil yield can be reduced and energy can be saved by implementing the device-related and process-related features according to the invention.
