CLOSED PHOTOBIOREACTORS FOR MICROORGANISM CULTIVATION
The disclosed technology, in some embodiments, relates to the field of photobioreactors and more particularly, to photobioreactors having improved internal illumination capabilities.
FLEXIBLE LID FOR FERMENTATION CONTAINER
A flexible lid may include a body including an upper portion connected approximately perpendicular to a cylindrical sidewall, the body defining a recess and inner wall constructed and arranged to facilitate the attachment of the flexible lid to a container. The flexible lid may include a plurality of ribs integrally formed with the cylindrical sidewall constructed and arranged to facilitate the elastic attachment of the approximately cylindrical sidewall to a container. A floating ball valve may be disposed within the upper portion being constructed and arranged to function as a one-way valve such that escape gases and fluids may escape the container while also preventing environmental fluids and contaminants from passing through the flexible lid into a container.
Reinforced barbed closure
A closure assembly is provided. The closure assembly includes a cap portion, a tubular neck extending from a top surface of the cap portion, and at least one reinforcing member extending between the top surface of the cap portion and an exterior surface of the tubular neck, wherein the cap portion, the tubular neck and the at least one reinforcing member are a unitary integral piece. The closure assembly design provides stability to the tubular neck and the cap portion when a force is applied to either one or both of the tubular neck and the cap portion.
CELL PRODUCTION DEVICE AND CELL PRODUCTION METHOD
This cell production device comprises: a cell production plate that includes a fluid circuit in which a plurality of functional sites are integrated; and a closed type connector that connects the fluid circuit to an external space in a closed manner, wherein the fluid circuit comprises, as the plurality of functional sites, an injection and discharge unit that injects or discharges a fluid into or out of the fluid circuit via the closed type connector, a variable volume unit that stores a fluid that is extruded or withdrawn by the injected or discharged fluid, and a cell induction and culture unit that performs at least one of induction and culture of cells based on the injected fluid.
DISPOSABLE BIOPROCESS SYSTEM SUPPORTING BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY
A Disposable Bioprocess System including a Single-Use-Bioreactor, a Single-Use-Pump and a single-use micro-organism retention filter. Combined most suitable for cultivation of suspended micro-organisms in a liquid media at high micro-organism concentration in a perfusion mode continuous process for expression of biological material. The inlet port of the liquid Single-Use-Pump connects via a valve to the broth reservoir of the Single-Use-Bioreactor through a liquid conveying port. The outlet port of the liquid pumping Single-Use-Pump connects via a valve to a micro-organism retention filter. And a method for operating said sterile Disposable Bioprocess System in perfusion mode for continuously processing.
Bioreactor System for Cell Cultivation
The present invention relates to a novel bioreactor system for cell cultivation. More specifically, the invention relates to a compact bioreactor system which has several integrated functions and enables small scale static culture as well as scale-up rocking culture in the same bioreactor. The bioreactor system comprises tray for positioning of a cell culture bag having adjustable volume, a lid covering the cell culture bag and provided with heating function, an integrated perfusion unit, an integrated cell loading unit, and an integrated unit for automatic cell culture sampling, wherein the bioreactor system is controlled by a single control unit. The invention also relates to a method of cell culture using the bioreactor system for culture of therapeutic cells.
Skin sample culture apparatus
A skin sample culture apparatus which has a base frame, with a skin sample receiving surface upon which at least part of the skin sample may be placed and which extends across an area defined by the shape of the frame. A securing member which is releasably connectable to the base frame and a grip which holds the skin sample under tension. The apparatus may include a tensioner to hold the sample under tension and means for introducing a fluid to the upper or lower surface of the sample.
System, method and apparatus for draining a bioreactor vessel
An apparatus for draining a bioreactor vessel includes a tubular body portion having an interior passageway, and at least one aperture in the tubular body portion providing for fluid communication with the interior passageway, the tubular body portion being configured for positioning at a bottom of a vessel, and a suction tube having a first end configured for fluid coupling with the tubular body portion, and a second end configured for fluid coupling with a port in a sidewall of the vessel.
MICROFLUIDIC DEVICE FOR CELL CULTURE AND SCREENING AND RELATED PRODUCTION METHOD
A microfluidic device for cell culture and screening, including a covering element with a plurality of openings configured for introducing and collecting fluids, and a central through hole; an intermediate element with a plurality of microchannels, a plurality of supply tanks and at least one waste tank, and a blind bottom cavity; a lower element, with a collecting tank and a recessed central portion; and a slide housed in a housing pocket. The intermediate element is interposed between the covering element and the lower element to form an upper optical window and at least one culture chamber. The plurality of microchannels puts in fluid communication the plurality of supply tanks, the at least one culture chamber and the waste tank.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS PRODUCING SEEDED GRAFTS
Closed disposable seeding systems with improved seeding chambers permitting uniform seeding of a scaffold or graft with patient's cells are provided. The seeding chambers with a variable width along the length of the chamber, or a minimal gap between the scaffold and chamber wall, provide an improvement of the prior seeding chambers of closed disposable seeding systems by providing faster and more efficient and uniform seeding of the grafts and scaffolds. Also described are scaffolds with biomechanical and structural properties permitting spontaneous reversal of stenosis and neotissue formation as the graft degrades yielding a scaffold-free neovessel.
