MACROPARTICLE FILTER DEVICE AND METHOD FOR USE IN CATHODIC ARC DEPOSITION
A macroparticle filter device for cathodic arc evaporation, to be placed between at least one arc evaporation source and at least one substrate exhibiting at least a surface to be coated with material evaporated from a cathode of the arc evaporation source in a vacuum coating chamber. The macroparticle filter device includes one or more filter components that can prevent macroparticles emitted by the cathode during cathodic arc evaporation to arrive the substrate surface to be coated. The at least one component is provided as one or more flexible sheets that block the lineal way of the macroparticles from the cathode to the substrate surface to be coated. Further a method for utilizing the macroparticle filter device is presented.
Razor blade and manufacturing method thereof
The present disclosure provides an improvement to razor blade coating by a physical vapor deposition method, by forming a hard coating layer as a thin coating layer in which chromium boride, which is a nanocrystalline structure having high hardness, is dispersed in an amorphous mixture of chromium and boron, thereby improving the strength and hardness of the thin coating layer and securing the bonding force by chromium in the amorphous mixture between the hard coating layer and a blade substrate on which an edge of the razor blade is formed.
NOVEL TARGET FOR MRAM
A sputtering target structure includes a back plate characterized by a first size, and a plurality of sub-targets bonded to the back plate. Each of the sub-targets is characterized by a size that is a fraction of the first size and is equal to or less than a threshold target size. Each sub-target includes a ferromagnetic material containing iron (Fe) and boron (B). Each of the plurality of sub-targets is in direct contact with one or more adjacent sub-targets.
Multilayer mirror for reflecting EUV radiation and method for producing the same
A multilayer mirror for reflecting Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) radiation and a method for producing the same are disclosed. In an embodiment a multilayer mirror includes a layer sequence having a plurality of alternating first layers and second layers, the first layers including lanthanum or a lanthanum compound and the second layers including boron, wherein the second layers are doped with carbon, and wherein a molar fraction of carbon in the second layers is 10% or less.
IN SITU AND TUNABLE DEPOSITION OF A FILM
A method is provided. The method includes the following steps: introducing a first physical vapor deposition (PVD) target and a second PVD target in a PVD system, the first PVD target containing a boron-containing cobalt iron alloy (FeCoB) with an initial boron concentration, and the second PVD target containing boron; determining parameters of the PVD system based on a target boron concentration larger than the initial boron concentration; and depositing a FeCoB film on a substrate according to the parameters of the PVD system.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RARE EARTH MAGNET
According to the present invention, a method for manufacturing a rare earth magnet that is capable of manufacturing a high-performance rare earth magnet with stable quality in large amount by the grain boundary diffusion method utilizing a film formed by the physical vapor phase deposition method is provided.
Vacuum arc source
A vacuum arc source for arc evaporation of boride includes: a cathode made of at least 90 at-% of boride, in particular made of more than 98 at-% of boride; an anode, which is preferably in the shape of a disk; a body made of a material which is less preferred by arc discharge compared to the cathode, the body surrounding the cathode in such a way that during operation of the vacuum arc source, movement of an arc on an arc surface of the cathode is limited by the body. At least 90 at-% of the material of the anode is of the same chemical composition as the cathode.
Razor blade and manufacturing method thereof
The present disclosure provides a razor blade coating by a physical vapor deposition method through performing a deposition with a single composite target composed of dissimilar materials with their area ratio defined to be varied in the single composite target in the direction of transferring the razor blade subject to the deposition, thereby forming a single layer in which the composition ratio of the dissimilar materials gradually changes in the thickness direction of the coating layer to improve the durability of the razor blade coating layer.
SELF-LUBRICATING FILM OVER WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGES IN VACUUM AND PREPARATION METHOD AND USE THEREOF
The present disclosure belongs to the technical field of functional films, and in particular relates to a self-lubricating film over wide temperature ranges in vacuum and a preparation method and use thereof. The present disclosure provides a self-lubricating film over wide temperature ranges in vacuum, including: a bonding layer, a transition layer and a lubricating layer laminated in sequence, wherein the bonding layer has a chemical composition of Ti; the transition layer has a chemical composition of Ti and TiB.sub.2; the lubricating layer has a chemical composition of Ti, TiB.sub.2 and MoS.sub.2. In the present disclosure, when the self-lubricating films over wide temperature ranges in vacuum are exposed to different temperatures, different components of Ti, TiB.sub.2 and MoS.sub.2 in the films may be correspondingly excited to enrich in frictional contact areas. The composition of each layer synergistically exerts a lubricating effect and improves the tribological properties and stability of the self-lubricating film over wide temperature ranges in vacuum in a vacuum over a wide temperature range.
