CALENDER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SUCH A CALENDER
A calender includes a rotatable roller, and a belt, co-acting with the roller with a determined belt pressure. At least one material for feeding through the calender is situated between the roller and the belt for a determined contact time during throughfeed through the calender. The calender also includes heating means for heating the fluid and/or the roller, control means for controlling the heating means and/or the belt pressure and/or the contact time, and flow influencing means for initiating and/or influencing a flow of the fluid in the internal space. The control means are configured to control the flow influencing means and thereby the flow of the fluid in the internal space in freely settable manner. A set with a plurality of such calenders and a method for controlling such a calender.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ANOMALY DETECTION ON A DOCTOR BLADE OF A PAPERMAKING MACHINE, AND COMPUTING DEVICE
A method for anomaly detection on a doctor blade of a papermaking machine includes obtaining doctor blade-related data, wherein the doctor blade-related data includes working condition data, status monitoring data, and design parameter data of the doctor blade, performing a predetermined data pre-processing on the doctor blade-related data to obtain a pre-processed data set, wherein the pre-processed data set includes processed data respectively corresponding to the working condition data, the status monitoring data, and the design parameter data; performing a predetermined feature extraction on the pre-processed data set, and fusing extracted features to obtain fused feature data; and analyzing the fused feature data based on different anomaly detection processes respectively, to perform a comprehensive anomaly detection on the doctor blade of the papermaking machine.
WEB CALIPER MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for making adjustments to the web converting machinery based upon the measured web caliper. Generally the web caliper is measured without contacting the web and in real time while the web is being conveyed at high rates of speed. The web caliper measuring system may be employed in the web converting system to improve web caliper control and improve winding. The web caliper measurement may be fed back to a calendering system to improve the caliper of web fed into a winding system, or the caliper may be fed forward to the web winding system to improve web tension and winding performance.
High speed paper web turn-up system with a prepared length paper band coil
An improved paper band delivery assembly for reliable high speed delivery of a turn-up paper band across a moving web of paper being wound onto a spool. The turn-up paper band is made ready for a turn up procedure by coiling a predetermined length of paper band suitable for a particular machine and retaining the coiled paper band in a reservoir pending deployment across a spool for a turn up procedure. The paper band may be coiled via manual operation or via automated operation. Coiling apparatus may be modularly replaced on a paper making machine. The coiled paper band may be supported within the reservoir on rollers, pins, or other items conducive to fast and reliable uncoiling.
Methods of controlling a manufacturing line used to produce paper products by reading marks on a paper web
A method of producing a paper product. A paper web is formed on a paper machine. The paper web has a plurality of sections. The web is analyzed to perform at least one of inspecting and identifying properties. The web is marked with a plurality of marks. At least one mark is marked at each of the plurality of sections. Thereafter, the web is wound with a winder to form a parent roll. A paper rating is assigned to each section based upon properties in that section that are identified. The web is unwound from the parent roll on a converting line having a plurality of operational parameters. At least one of the plurality of marks is read with a mark reading unit. The paper rating associated with the at least one mark is obtained. At least one operational parameter of the converting line is changed based upon the rating.
REEL EDITOR FOR PRE-PRINT PAPER, SHEET, AND BOX MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS
Systems for providing efficient manufacturing of paper, sheet, and/or box products of varying size and structure, often with pre-applied print (“pre-print”), are provided herein. Efficient customer ordering/tracking, job aggregation, print imposition, corrugator planning, and tracking and adjustments throughout the manufacturing process are contemplated. A reel editor is configured to edit the roll based on waste and/or errors that occurred during various manufacturing processes (e.g., during printing). A control plan defining what is on each roll of printed web product may be updated after editing. Depending on the configuration, the reel editor may be integrated with various manufacturing components. The reel editor may be configured to determine if there is enough waste on the roll to even making editing worthwhile, such as based on desired quality of the images, customer requirements, different price points, among other possible factors.
