Systems and Methods for Automating the Application of Friction-Modifying Coatings
A system and method for the application of friction-modifying coatings to roadways, walkways, pathways and other areas subject to vehicular, human or animal traffic, the system and method comprising the controlled, simultaneous application of binder and filler to a surface of a substrate, using a mobile device which passes over the substrate as the binder and filler are being applied. The system includes a mobile platform configured for being coupled to a vehicle. A binder applicator is mounted on the mobile platform and includes an array of spray nozzles coupled to a resin container. An air knife is mounted on the mobile platform and coupled to an air compressor for generating an air curtain. An aggregate dispenser bar including at least one aggregate dispenser is coupled to an aggregate bin and mounted on the mobile platform for dispensing aggregate.

SPREADING APPARATUS
In a spreading apparatus for scattering spreading material, in particular sand or soil substrates, onto a ground surface, includes a container for the spreading material and at least one spreading unit by which the spreading material in the container can be scattered, wherein the spreading unit includes at least one rotatable spreading disc which is substantially parallel to the ground and at least one drive device for rotating the spreading disc about the axis of rotation with the result that the spreading material can be scattered by the spreading disc and by virtue of centrifugal forces, provision is made for a limiting device to be arranged in at least part of the circumferential region of the spreading disc, which limiting device prevents the scattering of the spreading material in this part of the circumferential region, wherein the position of the limiting device relative to the spreading disc is adjustable, with the result that the direction in which the spreading material can be scattered is variable.
SYSTEMS FOR APPLYING ROADWAY SURFACE TREATMENTS, AND METHODS OF USING SAME
Systems and methods for applying roadway surface treatments. The system has an aggregate application assembly and a resin application assembly that are mounted or otherwise secured to a truck or other vehicle. The resin application assembly is spaced from the aggregate application assembly in the direction of travel of the vehicle. As the vehicle moves along a roadway surface, the resin and aggregate can be continuously applied such that the aggregate is provided to portions of the roadway surface that have been covered with resin.
ROAD PAVER OR FEEDER WITH MATERIAL RETENTION DEVICE WITH OVERLOAD PROTECTION, MATERIAL RETENTION DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR PROTECTING A MATERIAL RETENTION DEVICE
The invention relates to a road paver or a feeder with a machine frame, a travel carriage powered by a drive unit, and a material hopper with a material retention device arranged in the front in the operating direction, the material retention device comprising a fastening device and a retention element fastened to the material hopper through the fastening device, the material retention device having an overload protection device, which is designed in such a way that in the event of an overload applied thereto the retention element is detached the from material hopper and the fastening device, the latter remaining on the hopper, without damage. The invention also relates to a material retention device of such a road paver or feeder and a method for protecting a material retention device of such a road paver or feeder.
Determine optimal frequency to load haul truck
A method of determining optimal frequency to load haul trucks can include a central controller receiving an indication of the amount of paving material at a paving machine, and an indication of production rate of the paving machine. The central controller can then determine when more paving material should be provided to the paving machine. Based on this determination, the central controller can provide alerts or triggers to a paving material plant to indicate when haul trucks should be loaded to provide additional paving materials to the paving machine.
Autonomous ground surface treatment system and method of operation of such a system
An autonomous ground maintenance system comprising a vehicle comprising a chassis supported upon a ground surface by ground support members, a container supported by the chassis, the container defining a discharge outlet operable to disperse treating material held within the container to a target area of the ground surface, a gate adapted to selectively open and close the discharge outlet, a sensor adapted to identify the target area, and an electronic controller supported by the chassis, the controller being in communication with the sensor and the gate. The controller is adapted to position the chassis at a location proximate the target area such that the discharge outlet is capable of delivering the treating material to the target area and energize the gate to open the discharge outlet.
