SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATING A VIBRATING SCREED
A vibrating screed includes a power unit, a plurality of screed blades, wherein each of the plurality of screed blades is removably engageable with the power unit one at a time. The vibrating screed further includes a power unit controller operably coupled to the power unit, a memory operably coupled to the power unit controller, and a blade selector operably coupled to the power unit controller. The power unit controller is operable to receive a blade selection from the blade selector, the blade selection indicating a size of a particular screed blade within the plurality of screed blades; retrieve a range of operating speeds associated with the blade selection; and set the operational speed of the vibrating screed to correspond to the range of operating speeds associated with the blade selection.
FLOAT, FLOAT ASSEMBLIES, FLOAT ADAPTERS AND INTERFACES, VIBRATION APPARATUS, AND GROOVERS AND METHODS
A concrete float, float assembly, float adapter and interface, and vibration apparatus and methods are described. A vibration assembly has at least first and second interface components, and for example one interface component can join with an interface component on a pivot assembly and another interface component can join with an interface component on a finishing tool. An interface such as may be included in a quick attach/release configuration may be integrated on vibration apparatus and/or on a pivot assembly for quick attach/release of a joining component. A vibration assembly may include a load transmission or transfer component for transferring a load through the vibration assembly. A pivot assembly may include first and second interface components.
PLATE COMPACTOR
A compactor includes a plate, a vibration mechanism configured to impart a vibrating motion on the plate, and a housing configured to support control electronics therein and defining a battery receptacle upon which a battery pack is connectable. The control electronics are configured to selectively activate the vibration mechanism using electrical current from the battery pack. A frame extends between the plate and the housing, and a vibration isolator is disposed between the housing and the frame and configured to vibrationally isolate the housing from the frame.
Control apparatus for soil compacting apparatus
A control apparatus for a soil compacting apparatus such as a vibratory plate has a movable operating element for specifying a running direction of the soil compacting apparatus by way of an operator, and having a hydraulic master device, with a master cylinder, in which a master piston can be moved to and fro in a linear manner, in order to generate a hydraulic signal. A hydraulic connector serves for coupling hydraulic components of the soil compacting apparatus and for transmitting the hydraulic signal from the master device. A transmission device is provided for converting the movement of the operating element into a linear movement of the master piston, it being possible for the operating element to be moved between a first position (V) and a second position (R). The first position corresponds to a maximum forward movement of the soil compacting apparatus, and the second position corresponds to a maximum reverse movement of the soil compacting apparatus. A latching device is provided for releasably holding the operating element in a predefined position, for example the first position.
MULTI-PURPOSE VIBRATORY CONCRETE TOOL
The disclosed invention includes embodiments of a multi-purpose device for working concrete surfaces, the devices designed to use linear vibratory motion provided by a source of linear oscillations, and adaptable for a number of concrete working tasks. Devices include a support pole designed to connect a concrete implement to a commercially available reciprocating saw, a mass for magnifying the effects of the saw oscillations, and other features to enable safe, comfortable use. The invention further includes embodiments of a system for working concrete surfaces, the system comprising a concrete implement, a reciprocating saw, and a support frame for conveying oscillations from the reciprocating saw to the implement and for carrying the other system components.
Universal vibratory handle for cementitious surface floats
A vibratory handle for use with a surface finishing float, the vibratory handle including a first end having a bore for receiving a first float attachment screw therein for attaching the first end to the finishing float. The vibratory handle further including a second end having an oblong slot for receiving a second float attachment screw therein for attaching the second end to the finishing float such that the first float attachment screw and second float attachment screw are in operative alignment and spaced apart a distance along a surface the float. The vibratory handle also includes a gripping portion extending between the first end and second end.
Vibrator Mechanism Usable with a Concrete Finishing Tool
A remote controlled vibration imparting device for a concrete finishing tool uses a housing having a chamber surrounded by an inner surface of the housing. A vibrator with a support, a rotor with a shaft and weighted body, a motor, and a resilient link between the shaft and the motor is positioned within the housing chamber. The vibrator also includes a resilient band to separate the vibrator from the housing inner surface. First and second adaptors are employed for the housing to be placed between the handle and the terminus of a concrete finishing tool.
Drive System for Screeding Concrete
An apparatus for steering and driving a concrete screed having a frame and a screed head secured thereto includes a plurality of spaced drive wheels rotatably and pivotably secured to the frame at a plurality of points, and a steering member coupled to one or more of the drive wheels for controlling the directional orientation thereof.
VABRATORY PLATE COMPACTOR WITH GRADING MEANS
A grading blade for use with a plate compactor and a plate compactor having a grading blade, for use in grading base material when compacting. The grading blade is user movable relative to the plate compactor via a connection to a pivoting handle of the plate compactor or via a separate controller. The grading blade may be configured for use with a laser level and/or for remote control.
VIBRATING SCREED
A vibrating screed comprising a screed member, a motor, and an exciter assembly configured to vibrate the screed member in response to receiving torque from the motor via a driveshaft. The exciter assembly includes a first eccentric mass fixed on the driveshaft and a second eccentric mass axially and rotationally moveable along the driveshaft between a first position and a second position in which the second eccentric mass is axially closer to the first eccentric mass than in the first position. The vibrating screed further comprises a mode selection member to switch the exciter assembly between a first, low vibration mode, in which the second eccentric mass is in the first position, and a second, high vibration mode, in which the second eccentric mass is in the second position.
