A machine for the introduction of poles into the ground, particularly for the reinforcement of safety barriers. The machine including one movement assembly for the movement of the machine at the point where one safety barrier to be reinforced is located; one insertion assembly associated movable with the movement assembly and adapted to introduce at least partly into the ground one reinforcement pole at the point where the safety barrier is located; positioning device/component/unit (or the like) associated with the movement assembly and adapted to position the insertion assembly between: one home position, wherein it approaches the movement assembly; one operating position, wherein it is located beyond the safety barrier; and one insertion position, wherein it is tilted by an angle of insertion for the introduction of the reinforcement pole at the point where the safety barrier is located.

Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture for barrier systems with impact resistant rails supported from floor mounted post bases are disclosed. An apparatus includes an outer body of a post to extend upward from a ground, the post to be anchored to the ground; a rail to extend through an opening in a wall of the outer body; and a rod to extend upward from the ground within the outer body, the rod to extend through a hole in the rail.

Disclosed is a guardrail including a post and a longitudinal beam, the post and longitudinal beam being linked via at least one fastener and mounting plate. The mounting plate in one embodiment includes a rigid body configured to mate with the at least one fastener; and at least one deformable region or regions about or alongside the body that, in the event of an impact on the guardrail, bends and/or breaks thereby releasing the body from the remainder of the mounting plate and in doing so allowing the post and longitudinal beam to separate. A protective barrier includes a rigid upright member including a post, a fitting having a housing with a first outer surface and a first inner surface. The housing includes a first hole extending from the first outer surface to the first inner surface; a first end, a second end and an inner chamber defined by the inner surface of the housing and extending from the first end to the second end; the first end having a flange sized and shaped for attachment to an outer surface of the rigid upright; at least one support member disposed within the inner chamber and extending from the first end toward the second end of the housing, the support member including a second hole. The protective barrier also comprises a hollow rail including a third end sized and shaped for being received within the inner chamber, the hollow plastic rail including a third hole; and a fastener extending through the first hole, second hole and third hole such that the hollow plastic rail is secured to the fitting.

A significant improvement over existing devices and methods for lifting highway guardrail and similar bulky and heavy objects, this invention comprises a combination prying and lifting device (20) having a cable component (24) which has at one end a hook device (44) for grasping the guardrail panel (21) and has at the other end a component (30) for grasping the edge of the guardrail. This invention provides workers with significant protection from various types of injuries associated with isolating, lifting, installing and removing guardrail panels.

Elongated protective barrier apparatuses, assemblies and methods of manufacture and installation, are provided that utilize strips of recycled tire tread for attachment within an elongated recess of a guardrail. The elongated recess includes a base, first and second outwardly tapered walls, a minimum width defined between the outwardly tapered walls and an outer opening opposite the base. The elongated protective barrier includes a base layer and a plurality of additional layers sequentially stacked upon the base layer. The base layer includes a first base layer surface having a first base layer width, and a second base layer. The first base layer width is less than or equal to the minimum width. The plurality of additional layers have widths less than that of the elongated recess and are configured to substantially fill the recess at least up to, if not beyond, the outer opening.

Disclosed is a pre-fabricated modular system for installation of both a vehicle restraint system and at least one item of street furniture; the system comprising at least one pre-fabricated foundation module comprising a plurality of attachment points for securely attaching a vehicle restraint system to the foundation module; and at least one pre-fabricated extension module, which comprises one or more attachment points for securely attaching at least one item of street furniture to the extension module; and wherein the extension module and the foundation module comprise cooperating surfaces such that the respective modules can be placed in frictional engagement with one another.
