A compressed netting sleeve for in situ formation of a compost filter sock comprises a sleeve of netting material having a pair of opposed open ends, wherein the sleeve of netting material is bunched primarily along a longitudinal axis, whereby each of the open ends of the netting material remains accessible to form a compression bundle netting material; and a protective sleeve extending through the open ends of the sleeve of netting material to extend through the interior of the sleeve of netting material and around the exterior of the sleeve of netting material thereby surrounding the compression bundle netting material with the protective sleeve.

Device for coastal restoration

The invention describes a system for creating portable, porous structures for restoring coastline. The invention provides for a bag with multiple longitudinal pockets. The bag is made of porous natural or synthetic mesh material and the pockets are filled with lightweight, porous manufactured aggregate. In a preferred embodiment, the lightweight aggregate used in this invention is produced by thermal fusion of silicate clays in a rotary kiln. In another preferred embodiment, multiple bags are encased in a flexible grid material to form a mat. In another embodiment, the mat can be rolled into a log. The bags, mats, and logs can be placed on shorelines and other locations to restore coastline.

RETAINING WALL STRUCTURE

A shape-retaining hoist type rectangular parallelepiped bag includes: a rectangular parallelepiped bag that is a generally rectangular parallelepiped-shaped bag that has an internal space to accommodate an accommodated object; a bottom surface holding mechanism configured to hold a bottom surface by application of a tensile force thereto; a side surface holding mechanism configured to hold a side surface by application of a tensile force thereto; a central hanging body configured to extend in a vertical direction with one end thereof being fixed to a center of the bottom surface of the rectangular parallelepiped bag and hold the bottom surface holding mechanism and the side surface holding mechanism at intermediate positions in the vertical direction; and a ring-shaped hook holding portion connected to the other end of the central hanging body, to which a hook is to be attached. This provides a rectangular parallelepiped bag that is less likely to tear despite its small aspect ratio and large height, can compact soil particles by stages in its height direction, has a stable strength even when the bag has a large height as in a case where the bag has a ratio between a height and a width of the bag exceeding 1:1, for example, and is less likely to be deformed when lifted upwardly in the vertical direction.

An internally braced synthetic mattress is a geosynthetic structure made of a geosynthetic material. The structure has a bottom side, a top side and at least one upright side joining at least a portion of the bottom side and top side. The at least one upright side is formed by an upright fold of the geosynthetic material. A horizontal bar is woven through a portion of the bottom side of the geosynthetic structure and joined with an upright bar and a diagonal bar to form at least one angle brace to support at least a portion of the geosynthetic structure. The geosynthetic structure contains a filler to prevent/reduce erosion.

A vertically oriented barrier filling assembly for filling barrier tubing with a filling material and coiling filled barriers is disclosed. The barrier filling assembly includes a barrier filling device positioned above a barrier receiving device. The barrier filling device includes a coiler hopper that funnels the filling material to a barrel. An auger situated in the barrel includes a shaft and a fighting, with rotation of the auger feeding the filling material to empty barrier tubing attached to the barrel. Filled barriers are coiled on a vertically adjustable floor of the barrier receiving device as the barrier tubing is filled by moving the coiler hopper and/or the barrel in an orbital path. A system for filling and coiling barriers includes a supply hopper, the assembly, a processing station, and one or more conveyors, the system having a process flow from the storage hopper to the assembly to the processing station.
