Systems and methods for supporting a structure upon compressible soil
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system for reinforcing compressible soil strata. The system comprises at least one helical rigid-inclusion comprising a elongate body, a top member secured to one end of the elongate body, and at least one lower helically-formed member secured to the end of the elongate body opposite to the top member, and a load transfer platform configured to transfer at least a portion of a load from an overlying surface to the helical rigid-inclusion. Embodiments of the present disclosure also relate to methods of installing the system for reinforcing compressible soil.
Pile installation system for an offshore foundation construction and method of installing a pile
This pile installation system for an offshore foundation construction includes a main body, a movable part and a first means for attaching the main body to a frame of reference. This frame of reference is configured to act as a counterweight. It further includes a second means for attaching the movable part to a pile to be installed, and the movable part may be moved, with respect to the main body, in translation about the direction of an insertion axis.
Systems, methods and machines for driving screw anchors
A machine for driving a pair of screw anchors at substantially the same time. An attachment supports a pair of independent drive assemblies. Each assembly consists of a rotary driver and tool driver that moves along respective driving arms to independently drive a pair of screw anchors into supporting ground at different angles. Each assembly may move with respect to the machine independently to drive anchors into the ground in overlapping time, or both may rotate at once to drive anchors into the ground sequentially.
Pile installing system and a method of operating the system
A pile installing system for a pile including a cylindrical wall surrounding a hollow space, the system having a central cutter which is locatable at a lower end of the pile for loosening soil below the hollow space upon installing the pile into the ground and which is displaceable within the pile in longitudinal direction thereof so as to remove the central cutter from the pile after installing the pile in the ground, a peripheral cutter locatable at the lower end of the pile for loosening soil below the cylindrical wall, a soil passage for guiding loosened soil from below the cutters to the hollow space, and a soil conveying member for transporting loosened soil upwardly through the hollow space. The soil passage is located at at least one of the central and peripheral cutter at a radial distance from the cylindrical wall.
MONOPILE AND WIND TURBINE STRUCTURE
A monopile comprising a body (1) having a hollow interior, a toe (9) at a distal end for insertion into a soil (19) during monopile installation, and a proximal end region (2) for supporting a structure (7), such as a wind turbine tower, once the monopile has been installed. The body (1) further comprises a door aperture (12) provided in the body (1) for accessing the interior of the body (1). The door aperture (12) is configured to receive a door assembly (6,18) once the monopile (1) has been installed.
PILE-DRIVER AND METHOD
A pile-driver assembly for driving a pile into the ground, preferably off- shore, and a method of driving a pile into the ground using the pile-driver assembly is dis- closed. The assembly includes a casing defining a chamber, the chamber being configured to house a fluid, the chamber comprising a channel extending at least partially therethrough. The assembly further includes a positioning element configured to position the casing at or on the pile, wherein at least a portion of the positioning element is positioned between the chamber and the pile, wherein the positioning element comprises a guide element, configured to extend at least partially through the channel of the chamber. The assembly further includes actuating means, wherein actuation of the actuating means displaces the chamber relative to the positioning element, such that the chamber moves away from the pile, and wherein the actuating means is configured to release the chamber for displacement towards the pile such that a force is exerted by the chamber on the positioning member, to controllably drive the pile into the ground.
Device for pushing four piles into the ground or into a seabed
The present invention relates to a device for pushing four piles into the ground or into a seabed in a square configuration or in a diamond configuration, the device comprising: —a bridge assembly which defines a first, second, third and fourth connecting location arranged in a square or diamond configuration, —four connection assemblies via which in use each of the four piles is connected to the bridge assembly, wherein each pile connection assembly comprises: ∘an actuator comprising an upper actuator part and a lower actuator part, wherein the actuator is configured to extend, ∘a pile connector connected to the lower actuator part, ∘a control device configured for alternately letting each of the actuators extend, and configured for letting the pile which is pushed into the ground or seabed receive a greater force than the opposite pile of the square or diamond configuration, wherein the exerted push force is transferred into the bridge assembly and transferred at least partially from the bridge assembly as a tension force and a bending moment into the two adjoining piles via the two adjoining pile connection assemblies.
Method for installing a tubular metal pile in rocky soil
The invention concerns a method for installing a tubular metal pile (28) in a rocky ground, successively comprising drilling the rocky ground (6) in order to form a cavity (14) of predetermined diameter and depth, filling the cavity with a granular material (18), arranging the granular material present in the cavity by vibration, and installing the pile in the cavity.
SUPPORT FOOTING AND ANCHORING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A support system and method to support structures in a substrate such as the ground. The system generally comprises a tubular hollow body with a conical head, and a number of smaller hollow tubes positioned inside. Each of the smaller tubes having a bend and an opening adapted to communicate with a corresponding opening in the hollow body head. In use, the assembly is driven into the substrate to the desired depth, and rods are driven down each of the smaller tubes so that they at least partially extend out from the head and into the surrounding substrate. The support system may also include a screw structure at the head to aid in driving the support system into the ground, and guards to protect the smaller tubes from damage during installation.
Bio-inspired deep foundation pile and anchorage system
An expanding anchor and/or pile system wherein an outer shell of the pile/anchor is split lengthwise into at least two pieces and can be placed or driven into a hole in the earth in a retracted state and can subsequently be expanded such that the two or more pieces are forced outwardly—away from one another, thus causing them to exert a lateral force against the sides of the hole and thereby resulting in greater axial load carrying capacity in tension or compression of the anchor/pile.
