A blade drive shaft assembly (100) for a road saw comprising a shaft (120), a first mounting plate (125), a spacer removably fitted (126) on the shaft (120), a second mounting plate (127) removably fitted on the shaft (120), a mounting plate fixing adapted to secure the second mounting plate (127) to the shaft, a first circular saw blade mounted between the first mounting plate and the spacer (126), and a second circular saw blade mounted between the second mounting plate (127) and the spacer (126), wherein the first mounting plate (125) is integrally formed with the shaft (120) from a single piece of metal. A road saw incorporating the assembly is also described, as well as a method of forming, filling and compacting a trench and a method of making a blade drive shaft assembly.

Wide-end trencher boom

A trencher that is convertible between first and second trenching configurations so that when the trencher is in the first trenching configuration, a trencher boom includes a first trenching portion at the distal end of the boom and a second trenching portion that extends along a longitudinal axis from the first trenching portion toward the proximal end. The first trenching portion defines a first trench width, and the second trenching portion defines a second trench width. The first trench width is larger than the second trench width. The second trenching portion has a greater length measured along the longitudinal axis as compared to the first trenching portion.

A cutting tool (1) for producing a trench (2) in the ground (3) for laying cables (4), comprises a carrier device (5) which has a hub region (6) for connecting the cutting tool (1) to a rotary drive (7) and a peripheral region (8), wherein, arranged in the peripheral region (8) of the carrier device (5) are cutting segments (9) spaced from each other in an axial direction (10), wherein the carrier device (5) is in one piece and has a peripheral surface (11) at which are arranged raised portions (12, 13) which project from the peripheral surface (11) in a radial direction (14) and on which the cutting segments (9) are arranged.
