SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING MODULAR BUILDING STRUCTURES BASED ON SITE-SPECIFIC CONDITIONS
Systems and methods for providing modular building unit or “pods” are provided. In various embodiments, site-specific conditions and risk factors are evaluated and identified. The conditions and risk factors are used to inform decisions and design requirements for one or more pods and to modify or reinforce a pod prior to installation if needed. Methods and systems of securing the pods are also provided.
Underground Shelter with Air-Intake System
A sheltering system comprised of a housing unit made of at least one panel connected to a base with one or more entrances into the housing unit and a structural framework with at least one beam that extends the length or width of a panel or base on the housing unit. The beam has at least one notch near the joining of two panels or a panel and the base. The housing unit may be connected to an air intake system that allows for air to move into the interior of the housing unit and then egress out
Distributed communications platform theater control system
Presented herein is a transportable, distributed, edge-based, cloud-centered broadband command, control and communications infrastructure with built-in resilience that can be employed in data collection and integration, intelligence processing, mission planning, cognitive decision support and operational command, control and communications system. Specifically, a Modular Mission Systems (MIMS), composed of Modular Load Units (MLU), and tactical communications gateways integrated onto air platforms of opportunity in podded configurations (PODS) that can bring cloud-based, broadband communications and processing architectures to the tactical edge.
Modular Building Units, and Methods of Constructing and Transporting Same
A lower connector includes a lower connector hollow body, a pair of lower connector bosses coupled to the lower connector hollow body, and a pair of lower connector arms coupled to the lower connector bosses. A connector assembly includes an upper connector coupled to a lower connector and a gusset plate sandwiched between the upper and lower connectors.
MODULAR STRUCTURE
A modular structural element (20) which is arranged to be connected to another such element so as to form an assembled structure, wherein the modular structural element is of substantially square outline or of substantially hexagonal or half-hexagonal outline, and the element comprises a principal height dimension and a principle lateral dimension, wherein, a ratio of the two said principal dimensions is no more than 6.
MODULAR STRUCTURE SYSTEMS
A method for joining shipping containers together to create a modular structure includes providing a first shipping container and a second shipping container; removing a wall of the side of the first shipper container to create a first opening; removing a wall of the side of the second shipping container to create a second opening; positioning the first opening adjacent and opposite to the second opening; aligning the first opening with the second opening; after the aligning, securing the first shipping container to the second shipping container to create the modular structure; and securing an inner flashing around an inner periphery of the first opening.
SCALABLE DYNAMIC FRAME SYSTEM
An assembled frame for a structure in the building can be formed from multiple different types of building blocks for a frame. The assembled frame for the structure in the building is formed with the multiple different types of building blocks for the assembled frame in a manufacturing facility, and then shipped as the assembled frame to a construction site. The multiple different types of individual building blocks for the frame can at least include two or more of i) metal beams/strut framework, ii) metal angle frames, iii) metal cross connects, and iv) metal mating blocks.
CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR VOLUMETRIC MODULAR CONSTRUCTION
A modular unit connection system for jointing together pre-fabricated rectangular modular building units to form a multistory building. The building units can be completely fitted out and this connection system allows for positive structural connection using liquid grout filled columns, without bolting or welding and without the requirement for access to the connections from inside the pre-finished building module interiors. The four corner columns of the box-shaped modules are steel square hollow sections. This connection system uses a unique connector tube passing from the bottom of the column above, through a horizontal connector plate containing a guidance system and into the top of the hollow column below, and then a system of grouting the inside of the column, from an access position on top the upper most module to form the final positive structural connection.
Connector for a modular building
A connector assembly, having an upper connector, a pin coupling the upper connector to a lower connector and a gusset plate sandwiched between the upper and lower connectors. Also, disclosed is a hoistable connector assembly, a lifting frame assembly, a coupling system for modular frame units, a method for assembling a module unit using the connector assembly, and a modular frame unit and building having the connector assembly.
Connector for non-cylindrical composite tubing
A connector may couple to a non-cylindrical composite tubing having at least two lateral sides disposed in parallel and an open end. The connector may comprise first and second bonding plates adhered to an inner surface of the two lateral sides via an epoxy adhesive uniformly distributed. The first and second bonding plates may each have a distal lateral face defining a plurality of first threaded holes accessible at the open end of the composite tubing. The connector may also comprise an end plate having a plurality of first and second slotted holes disposed substantially in parallel and each aligned with an associating one of the first threaded holes. The connector may also comprise end plate fasteners loosely inserted through the first and second slotted holes and engaged with the first threaded holes. The end plate may also comprise one or more attachment points.
