Extendable construction stanchion
Certain embodiments of the invention surround a reusable construction guardrail or stanchion. In certain embodiments, the reusable construction guardrail has features that aid in easier and faster assembly and disassembly. In certain embodiments of the invention, the construction guardrail is transportable, having telescoping features and folding features to allow greater ease in packing and transporting. Certain embodiments of the invention include a reusable construction guardrail having a uniform construction.
FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM
A fall protection system includes a substantially vertical guardrail post defining a first post side and a second post side; a lateral safety guardrail extending substantially horizontally from the guardrail post; and a pillar attachment assembly comprising a pillar attachment device and a flexible pillar attachment strap, the pillar attachment device mounted to the first post side of the guardrail post, and the flexible pillar attachment strap extending substantially horizontally from the pillar attachment device and configured to wrap around a structural component, wherein a free end of the pillar attachment strap opposite the pillar attachment device is releasably secured to the guardrail post.
FALL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
The present system for fall restraint includes a mounting frame connected to a trigger mechanism and firing blocks, with a trigger cable extending through apertures in the mounting frame and trigger mechanism. Sudden movement by a user, such as a fall, actuates the trigger mechanism to trigger the firing blocks. The firing blocks are loaded with anchors and firing cartridges. Triggering the firing blocks causes the cartridges to fire, propelling the anchors into an anchoring surface, such as a roof. Because the user is connected to the trigger cable, once the anchors deploy the user is anchored to the roof and their fall arrested.
Safety barrier netting system
A system for substantially enclosing the periphery of a building top with a netting system which is easily and efficiently movable or reconfigurable during the building construction process comprises a lightweight netting system for extending above a completed work area or floor, a strong lightweight structural support system for the netting, wherein the structural support system is vertically adjustable via slidable engagement with brackets attached to the floors which are already completed, provides enhanced safety for workers and for pedestrians below by preventing passage of workers or debris through the netting and enhances efficiency of construction by providing an easily reconfigurable, inexpensive and lightweight system for providing such enhanced safety.
BARRIER SUPPORT ASSEMBLY, BARRIER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DEPLOYING A BARRIER SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
An embodiment of the invention provides a barrier support assembly for use in supporting a temporary safety barrier for rapid deployment in environments such as metro rail tunnels or construction. Further embodiments provide a barrier system and a method for deploying the barrier.
WHEEL STOP BRACKET AND SYSTEM FOR WHEELED MACHINERY
A bracket for a wheel stop barrier for wheeled equipment or machinery. The bracket comprises a base releasably securable to a floor or a surface over which the wheeled equipment or machinery is operated, and a barrier retainer to releasably secure a longitudinal barrier rail to the base. The bracket limits movement of the longitudinal barrier rail, across the floor or the surface when the base is releasably secured to the floor or surface and when the longitudinal barrier rail is contacted by a wheel of the wheeled equipment or machinery. Also disclosed is a wheel stop barrier for wheeled equipment or machinery, where the wheel stop barrier comprises two or more brackets and one or more longitudinal barrier rails.
SAFETY GATE
A safety gate includes a first column, disposed on a first side of an elevator shaft, a second column, disposed on a second side of the elevator shaft, a first gate panel, and a second gate panel. The first gate panel is coupled to the first column via a first locking hinge. The second gate panel is coupled to the second column via a second locking hinge.
System for the safety of workers installing escalators
A system for the safety of those installing escalator systems having structural supports. A hand-rail is utilized having at least one post, each post made of an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion contains a top rail slot and a bottom rail slot for a cable to pass through, the cable is tensioned at a cable tension mount which can be located along the side of the escalator structure or to the bottom ground surface or top ground surface. The lower portion of the post contains a bottom mount and mid-bottom mount, which mount to the side of the escalator structure at the desired location of the user. This hand-rail system eliminates the need for a worker to wear a safety harness and tether to a cable which restricts motion.
A TELESCOPIC EDGE PROTECTION POST
A telescopic edge protection post arrangeable between a floor and a ceiling, comprising outer and inner tubes, each comprising a bottom end and a top end, the inner tube extending into the outer tube and being movable with respect thereto between an extended position and a collapsed position. The post further comprises a locking mechanism to lock the inner tube with respect to the outer tube in the extended position, and a tensioning unit arranged at the top end of the inner tube. The tensioning unit comprises a tensioning element having a primary and secondary tensioning portions, wherein tensioning of the secondary tensioning portion requires a lower force than the primary tensioning portion, allowing tensioning of the secondary tensioning portion by extending the telescopic edge protection post by hand into engagement with the floor and the ceiling. Further, the primary and secondary tensioning portions each comprise a compression spring.
