An interface module of a skimmer for a swimming pool or spa includes an adjustable face assembly that rotatably adjusts within an angular range, inward and/or outward with respect to vertical, that includes the expected possible angles of the pool wall, to provide a substantially planar mounting surface that is parallel to the wall of the swimming pool or spa. A waterproof shroud interconnects mounting brackets of the assembly, expanding and contracting as the mounting brackets are rotated relative to each other. The assembly can be integrated with the skimmer during manufacture of the skimmer, or poolside during skimmer installation. The installer positions the assembly approximate a skimmer aperture in the pool wall, actuates the adjustment mechanism of the interface module to select and lock the desired angle, and secures the interface module flush against the angled pool wall, with the throat module and vessel of the skimmer remaining upright.

POOL SKIMMER GUARD ASSEMBLY

A pool skimmer guard assembly for keeping a pool skimmer free from obstructions includes a rod that is comprised of a resiliently bendable material. In this way the rod can be bent into a U-shape. Thus, the rod can be positioned in an intake of a pool skimmer having the rod curving outwardly from the intake. A pair of grips is each coupled to the rod such that each of the grips is positioned in the intake of the pool skimmer when the rod is bent into the U-shape. Each of the grips has a gripping edge that is perpendicularly oriented with the rod. In this way the gripping edge of each of the grips can engage a respective edge of the intake thereby inhibiting the rod from being dislodged from the intake.

Pool strainer basket insect and organic matter trap

A pool strainer basket insert system and method are contemplated in which a high porosity, coarse fibrous mass is inserted in a pool skimmer basket. Via optimization of the material properties of the fibrous mass and configuration such that approximately 50% of the fibrous mass is located above the waterline and 50% below the water line the problems of the prior art may be solved via the retaining properties of the fibrous mass, enabling insects and small organic matter to be retained and preventing their migration back to the main body of the pool.

Skimmer Assembly

A skimmer assembly includes a housing, a first inlet, a first outlet, a second inlet, a second outlet, and a valve. The housing includes a first chamber portion, a second chamber portion, and a divider wall. The divider wall is operable to inhibit fluid communication between the first chamber portion and the second chamber portion. The first inlet and the first outlet are in fluid communication with the first chamber portion. The second inlet and the second outlet are in fluid communication with the second chamber portion. The valve is operable in an open state and a closed state. The valve is configured to (i) allow a flow of fluid into the second chamber portion in the open state and (ii) inhibit the flow of fluid into the second chamber portion in the closed state.

Skimmer and Basket Assembly

A skimmer assembly includes a basket assembly and a housing. The basket assembly includes a basket and a handle rotatably coupled to the basket. The handle includes a first end extending outwardly from the basket and configured to rotate between a first orientation and a second orientation about an axis of rotation. The axis of rotation extends in a first direction. The housing includes an upper chamber, a lower chamber, and a wall disposed between the upper chamber and the lower chamber. The wall includes an aperture defined in part by opposed lateral walls configured to inhibit translation of the basket assembly in a direction transverse to the first direction when the first end is in the first orientation.

Filter for a filtration device

A filter, for insertion into an inlet duct of a water filtration system, has an annular upper end delimiting an opening around a longitudinal axis and defining a filter diameter. A side wall extends, around the longitudinal axis, between the annular upper end and a bottom wall that extends opposite the opening. The side and/or bottom walls have orifices to allow water to flow therethrough while retaining solid elements. The sidewall wall comprises a plurality of arms that each extend between a lower edge, connected to the bottom wall, and an upper edge forming part of the annular upper end. Each arm extends along an adjustable inclination so that the filter diameter is variable according to the inclination of each arm. When the filter is inserted into the inlet duct, the inclination of the arms is adjusted so that the filter diameter is adapted to the inlet diameter.
