Latch apparatus with independent identical opposing latches

The present latch apparatus includes a swinging piece having first and second independent latches or sliders sliding in first and second slots. The first and second sliders slide independently of each other. The first and second sliders engage an undersurface of an extension of a first object such as a gate. If either the first or second slider is engaged on the undersurface, the swinging piece is locked and is not swingable such that the first object such as the gate cannot itself swing away from a second object such as a barrier section. Only when each of the first and second sliders has been slid beyond the undersurface can the swinging piece swing to permit the first object such as the gate to be released and thus swingable itself relative to the second object such as the barrier section.

A vehicle door latch device includes: an interlocking unit assembly including an interlocking mechanism; and an operating unit assembly including an operating mechanism. The interlocking unit assembly includes a latch configured to be rotatable to a latched position from an open position via a half closed door position by interlocking with the striker. The operating unit assembly includes: a casing, in which the interlocking unit assembly is fitted, and in which the operating mechanism is installed; and a switch plate, on which a half closed door detection switch and an electric wiring connected to the half closed door detection switch are installed, and which is integrally installed in the casing, the half closed door detection switch having a switch pin configured to abut against the latch. A plane of rotation of the latch and a plate surface of the switch plate intersect each other orthogonally.

An electrical lock may include a main body case; a dead bolt being movable between a locked position and an unlocked; a dead bolt moving element structured to move the dead bolt; a drive source structured to move the dead bolt moving element; a power transmission mechanism structured to transmit power of the drive source to the dead bolt moving element; a manual-handling component, which is placed at an outdoor side of the door, structured to manually move the dead bolt, being at the locked position, to the unlocked position; a manual unlocking mechanism to which the manual-handling component is connected; and a restriction member structured to restrict a motion of the manual-handling component, the restriction member being formed in, or fixed to the dead bolt moving element.

A lockcase is mountable upon a surface of a doorway jamb which is selectively closable by a barn door. The lockcase includes a bolt which translates or otherwise moves relative to the lockcase to selectively engage a strike in the barn door. The bolt is actuated by movement of a handle on a lever mounted to the lockcase. In one embodiment, the lever rotates to cause a shuttle to translate and with the bolt mounted to the shuttle. Detents on the shuttle tend to keep the bolt in either a retracted or a deployed position relative to the lockcase and the strike.

Door latch

A lockable spring-biased latchbolt in some embodiments of a door latch is manipulatable from a first side (protected side) of a door by translation to an opened-door position, and a separate element situated alongside the latchbolt is manipulatable from a second side (less protected side) of the door to contact and move the latchbolt to the opened-door position only if movement of that second element is not prevented by a locked position of a locking means. The locking means in these embodiments does not interfere with opening the door from the first side. The locking means can be changed back and forth between its locked position and its unlocked position by use of a key (or combination or code) from the second side of the door, and optionally from the first side of the door with or without the key (or combination or code).

Latch assembly

A latch apparatus is formed of a cantilevered beam (202) and a button (204). The cantilevered beam (202) comprises a loading feature (210) and a notch (216), while the button (204) comprises a slot (218) and an engagement tab (220). When mounted within a cavity of a housing, the cantilevered beam and button provide both push-in and side sliding movement of the button. The latch is locked by sliding the button in one direction, and the latch is unlocked by pushing the button inward and then sliding the button in an opposite direction. The housing may further comprise an angled catch feature within the cavity for mating with a complimentary angle of the button to avoid inadvertent unlocking of the latch. The combination of push in force and side sliding force minimizes inadvertent unlocking of the latch assembly.
