Portable door lock
A door locking device having a locking bar with a first section and a second section pivotally connected to the first section and, the second section being provided with a protrusion. There is also provided a housing having a first end comprising a face and a recess therein. The first section of the locking bar is received and retained, within the recess of the housing, and the pivotal connection is orientated with an axis of rotation that is non-parallel with the longitudinal axis of the locking bar.
MAGNETIC LOCK AND UTILITY CARTS INCLUDING SAME
A magnetic lock which requires only a single magnet for operation, yet which is biased into a locking position. A latch is slideably mounted in a slide way defined by a housing with a latch opening at one end. The latch comprises a magnet at its base, and a latch positioner of ferromagnetic material is positioned within the housing alongside the latch. The positioner is longer than the magnet, such that the magnetic field biases the magnet to locate at the center of the length of the latch positioner. The latch itself is sufficiently long that it projects beyond the latch opening of the housing when the magnet is allowed to center. The slide way is open below the magnet a sufficient distance that when a “key” of a ferromagnetic, or optionally magnetic, material, is located near the base of the housing, the magnet and its associated latch are drawn further into the housing a sufficient distance that the latch is drawn out of the way of an associated catch.
Padlock for securing a switch
A lockout padlock for securing a switch of an industrial plant comprises a lock housing composed of plastic, a hoop, a lock cylinder that has a cylinder housing and a rotatable cylinder core, and a key, with the cylinder core being rotatable between a locked position in which the hoop is locked or lockable to the lock housing and an unlocked position. The lock cylinder has a plurality of tumblers, with each tumbler being movable between a respective release position and a respective blocking position. The plurality of tumblers comprise a plurality of pin tumblers that are spring-loaded in the direction of their respective blocking positions. The plurality of tumblers furthermore comprise a plurality of supplementary tumblers that are not spring-loaded and that are freely movably supported between their respective release positions and their respective blocking positions.
Motor vehicle door lock
The invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock, comprising a lock case (1) and also comprising at least one locking mechanism (2, 3) supported in the lock case (1), which locking mechanism consists essentially of a rotary latch (2) and a pawl (3). In addition, a lock housing (5) connected to the lock case (1) is realized. The lock case (1) is mostly L-shaped in the cross-section. In addition, the lock case (1) describes a locking-mechanism plane (G) and an end-plate plane (S) different from the locking-mechanism plane. The end-plate plane (S) is equipped with a bridge part (7), which spans at least one inlet opening (E), and two side parts (6). According to the invention, the lock case (1) is equipped with merely the two side parts (6) bordering the inlet opening (E), without a bridge part. In contrast, the lock housing (5) acts completely or partially as a bridge part (7).
Padlock
The present invention relates to a padlock having a metal U-shaped rod seated in an outer polymer body. The padlock has a one-piece actuating device that is formed by a base that is operatively associated with the core of the cylinder unit, an elongate body portion that is positioned above the base and has end portions designed to be seated in corresponding recesses of the rod, and a stop portion that projects laterally from the elongate body portion. Rotating the core of the cylinder unit to open the padlock causes the rotation of the base of the actuating device, and consequently the rotation of the elongate body, causing the end portions of the elongate body to come out of the recesses in the rod.
Motor vehicle door locking system
The invention relates to a motor vehicle door locking system, comprising a motor vehicle door lock (1) on a motor vehicle door (2) and a lock retainer (3), interacting therewith, on a motor vehicle body (4), or vice versa, according to patent application DE 10 2014 007 119.7, characterized in that a hold-back element (5) is provided which keeps clear an inlet opening (6) for the lock retainer (3) in the motor vehicle door lock (1) even in the event of deformations of the motor vehicle door (2) caused by an accident, wherein the hold-back element (5) keeps the opening clear on account of a shaping of the hold-back element.
REFUSE CONTAINER LOCKING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A refuse container locking apparatus and method. In some embodiments, the refuse container has a container bin with a container lid rotatably mounted adjacent the open end of the container bin. Some instances of the locking apparatus have a locking hasp arm with a slotted end mounted to a base plate mounted to the container sidewall. The locking hasp is linearly slidable on the base plate between a first arm distal position spaced from container lid and a first arm interlocking position adjacent the container lid. Some instances include a locking bolt mounted on a bolt base mounted on the container lid. The locking bolt is linearly slidable on the bolt base between an unlocked position spaced from the locking hasp arm and an interlocked position adjacent the container lid and in interlocking communication with the locking hasp arm. Some methods can require two hands to operate the locking apparatus.
Surface bolt and method of making and use
An improved surface bolt having a one-piece bolt and, in some embodiments, a one piece channel base in which the bolt is slidably mountable. In some embodiments, the channel base has first and second opposing edges with sidewalls along the edges, and each sidewall has a lip overhanging the base to define a groove or slot. The bolt has first and second opposing edges with ridges that slidably mount within the grooves. The bolt can include a handle extending from a first bolt member surface and a bumper extending from an opposed second bolt member surface and constraining sliding movement of the bolt between fastener heads or other stops extending from the channel base. Some embodiments of the bolt and channel base are made of a lightweight material such as plastic for example; and the bolt and channel base can include scoring, allowing their size to be altered at the score lines.
