Lock assembly
A lock assembly comprising: a hand-operable member configured to move laterally relative to a fore-end of the lock assembly; wherein lateral movement of the hand-operable member causes the lock assembly to move between a locked mode and an unlocked mode. A lock assembly comprising: a latch, the latch configured to move rotationally relative to the lock assembly; and a hand-operable member configured to move laterally relative to a fore-end of the lock assembly; wherein the hand-operable member is coupled to the latch such that lateral movement of the hand-operable member drives rotational movement of the latch. Methods of installing a lock assembly, comprising setting a hub of a lock assembly to one of a first unlocked position, a first locked position, a second unlocked position, a second locked position, or a deadlocked position, and installing a cylinder lock for engagement with the hub.
Locking device to secure a door and methods for installing and operating the locking device
A device for securing a door including a rotatable handle affixed to the door, a rotatable member affixed to the door, a catch, and a protrusion from the rotatable handle that is configured to lift the member when the member is engaged with the catch and the rotatable handle is rotated. A device for securing a door including a member configured to be rotatably attached to the door, a catch configured to be attached to a wall adjacent to the door and to receive the member, and a protrusion configured to be attached to a handle on the door and to lift the member when the member is in a closed position and the handle is rotated. A method for installing a device for securing a door with a handle, the method including affixing a member to the door so that the member can rotate, affixing a catch to a wall adjacent the door, the catch configured to receive the member, and affixing a protrusion to the handle, the protrusion configured to lift the member when the member is engaged with the catch and the handle is rotated.
Door latch
A latch is provided for latching the doors of cubicles or stalls provided in public washrooms. The latch includes a body mounted within a cavity formed between the inner and outer door surfaces, the body rotatably mounting a spindle having a latching member mounted at one end. Biasing means in the form of one or more cam followers acting on a corresponding number of cam surfaces is provided between the body and the spindle to hold the spindle in a closed position but, once displaced from the closed position, to bias the spindle toward a fully open position.
Door lock device for vehicle
A door lock device for a vehicle includes: a support member; a latch supported to be rotatable around a first shaft member supported by the support member and rotating in a first direction and engaging with a striker provided in a vehicle main body when a vehicle door is closed; a pawl supported to be rotatable around a second shaft member supported by the support member and restricting rotation of the latch in a second direction by engaging with the latch engaged with the striker; and an elastic member having one and other end portions and elastically deformed by an external force, in which in a state where the elastic member is elastically deformed, the one end portion engages with the pawl, the other end portion is supported by the support member, and an elastic force is applied to the pawl to bias the pawl to the latch side.
Sliding-door latch
A reversible apparatus for a conventional pocket door has a sliding-handle mechanism and a handle cavity sized to facilitate human operation. Moving parts are contained in a cartridge, and remain assembled, independent of the configuration of the apparatus for doors that close from left to right, or doors that close from right to left.
Keeper apparatus to maintain gate in plane with frame
A keeper apparatus engaged to the lower free end swinging corner portion of a gate, not to either of the upper and lower corner portions having the axis on which the gate swings, and not to the upper free end swinging corner portion where the gate has a main latch. The keeper apparatus joins the shortened ends of a horizontal gate support member and a vertical gate support member where, prior to engaging the keeper apparatus on the shortened ends, such intentionally manufactured shortened ends are free and spaced from each other.
