Case including a vessel and pivoting cover

A case including: a vessel, a cover mounted to be moved in rotation on the vessel via a hinge system which has a hinge axis and at least one hinge, wherein each hinge has a first portion which is fixedly joined to the vessel, a second portion) which is fixedly joined to the cover and a connector which assumes alternately an operating position in which the connector ensures the connection between the second portion and the first portion to allow for rotation of the second portion relative to the first portion about the hinge axis and, alternatively, a safety position in which the connector dissociates the second portion and the first portion.

Releasable Ball Lock Hinge

A releasable ball lock hinge is disclosed. The releasable ball lock hinge includes a first body operable with a hinge ball and a release ball. Each ball can be movable within respective openings of the first body. The releasable ball lock hinge also includes a second body configured to rotatably interface and removably couple with the first body. The hinge ball releasably engages the second body. The second body has a release recess operable with the release ball to disengage the hinge ball and alternately couple and release the first body and the second body based on a relative position between the first body and the second body.

There is described a hinge for detachably connecting a door or window to a wall or a frame such as a windshield. The hinge comprising a shaft extending longitudinally, further comprising a blocker which is extendable about the shaft. A first socketed member is fixed to the shaft, and a second socketed member comprises a lumen for sliding the shaft therein. The lumen comprises a cavity larger than a remainder of the lumen and which defines an inward edge on which the blocker abuts, thereby retaining the shaft in the lumen. The shaft comprises an inner recess which can house the blocker therein if the inner recess is aligned with the blocker, thereby retracting the blocker from the cavity and releasing the shaft from the second socketed member and allowing the first socketed member and the second socketed member to be separated. This can be useful for detaching a door of a boat windshield, for example.
