The roller rolls along the first limiting mechanism until the roller is clamped into the groove, such that the maintenance window cover and the maintenance window body are tightly attached.

Hinge arms can be pivotally coupled to the box, with a first hinge arm also being pivotally secured to an articulating hinge socket to accommodate pivotal displacement of the lid from the box, as well as pivotal displacement of the lid about a portion of the first hinge arm. A second hinge arm can be selectively removable from secure engagement with the lock hinge assembly. Further, a tamper resistant pin can extend through the upper head portion of the second hinge arm when the second hinge arm is engaged with the lock hinge socket so as to lock the second hinge arm to the lid, and thereby secure the lid at a closed position on the box.

Snap rod locker

A storage compartment system for a vehicle includes a lid, and a snap rod locker including a first hinge portion. The first hinge portion includes a support portion connected to the lid and extends from a base portion to a rod portion. The storage compartment system further includes a bin having a second hinge portion having a locking feature and a plurality of arcuate flanges. The plurality of arcuate flanges defines an arcuate slot. The locking feature and the plurality of arcuate flanges define a gap in a hollow wall of the bin. The first hinge portion and the second hinge portion are connected to rotatably connect the lid to the bin.

Clamping device

A clamp assembly includes a first clamp half-piece and a second clamp half-piece. In one example, the clamp half-pieces are identically shaped. In one example, each of the clamp half-pieces has at least one integral pin and at least one aperture. The first and second clamp half-pieces are pivotally connected to each other via a first snap-fit interface in which the integral pin of the first clamp half-piece snap-fits into the at least one aperture of the second clamp half-piece. The clamp assembly can also include a link arm connected to the first clamp half-piece via a second snap-fit interface. A lever arm can also be included that is pivotally connected to the link arm via a third snap-fit interface. The clamp assembly does not require separate link pins or other parts and only includes four components: the clamp half-pieces, the link arm, and the lever arm.

HINGES FOR A SWIVELING REMOVABLE LID

The present invention is a novel hinge design that allows unique operation of the lid for a container, box, storage chest, ice chest or similar item. In addition to the lid being able to flip up on two hinges as is traditional, the present invention allows the lid to swivel to one side or the other, while remaining in the horizontal plane. This is accomplished, in the exemplary embodiment, by means of two inventive ball-and-socket hinges each of which can have its ball disengaged from its socket. If one ball-and-socket hinge is thus disengaged, the lid is then free to rotate horizontally around the other ball-and-socket hinge, thereby swiveling the lid to one side and effectively opening the box or container. The lid, when opened in this fashion, is amply supported by the end of the box over which it sits, and can act as a table or flat surface for organizing items as they are transferred to or from the box or container. The horizontal lid can swivel in either direction, providing broad access to either end of the container. If broader access is desired, the lid can also be completely removed by simultaneously disengaging both hinges.

A clamp assembly includes a first clamp half-piece and a second clamp half-piece. In one example, the clamp half-pieces are identically shaped. In one example, each of the clamp half-pieces has at least one integral pin and at least one aperture. The first and second clamp half-pieces are pivotally connected to each other via a first snap-fit interface in which the integral pin of the first clamp half-piece snap-fits into the at least one aperture of the second clamp half-piece. The clamp assembly can also include a link arm connected to the first clamp half-piece via a second snap-fit interface. A lever arm can also be included that is pivotally connected to the link arm via a third snap-fit interface.
