Method and device for calculating consumption amount of engine oil of vehicle
A method for determining a consumption amount of an engine oil of a vehicle includes starting, by a controller, an engine of the vehicle; and extracting and determining, by the controller, a consumption amount of the engine oil of the vehicle per unit time from a memory storing the consumption amount of the engine oil per unit time, in response to a speed of the started engine and an intake air pressure of the started engine.
Systems and methods for reliably detecting wear metal particles in lubrication systems to avoid progressive damage
Systems and apparatuses relate to a system comprising a controller comprising at least one processor coupled to a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising: determining a concentration of a plurality of wear metal particles in a lubricant for an engine system; determining a confidence parameter regarding the concentration determination; determining a filtered concentration of the plurality of wear metal particles using a baseline concentration of the plurality of wear metal particles; setting a diagnostic threshold for the plurality of wear metal particles based on the confidence parameter; and, responsive to determining that the diagnostic threshold is exceeded, providing a notification.

SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AN ENGINE
The invention relates to a monitoring system (SY1) for monitoring an engine (6) comprising: a sensor unit (U1) connected via an inlet line (12) to an oil circuit (C1) of the engine, the sensor unit comprising one or more sensors (SN) for measuring first parameters representative of the quality of an oil (OL) taken from the oil circuit; an analysis unit (U2) for establishing, based on the first parameters (PR1) or second parameters (PR2) obtained from the first parameters, whether at least one predefined condition (CN) is met, by comparing the first or second parameters with at least one threshold value; and a detection unit (U3) configured to detect a deterioration (EVT) of the quality of the oil representative of an abnormal state of the engine, if at least one predefined condition (CN) is met. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.
APPARATUS FOR MONITORING AN OIL THERMOSTAT
The invention relates to an apparatus for monitoring an oil thermostat arranged in an oil circuit of an internal combustion engine. The apparatus comprises a sensor unit (4, 14b; 15) which is designed to determine at least one first parameter, by means of which a current setpoint operation of the oil thermostat (10) can be derived, and to determine at least one second parameter, by means of which a current actual operation of the oil thermostat (10) can be derived. The apparatus further comprises an evaluation device (40), which is designed to detect an onset of an error function of the oil thermostat (10) as a function of the first parameter and the second parameter.
Oil dilution diagnostic test
Methods and systems are provided for diagnosis of oil dilution in an engine. In one example, a method may include sealing a crankcase and spinning an engine unfueled to heat and vaporize the oil in response to detection of rich engine operation. Pressure measurements at the sealed crankcase may be collected and compared to a baseline to diagnose a presence of fuel in the oil.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LUBRICANT DILUTION DETECTION
Systems and methods for lubricant dilution detection are disclosed. A method for detecting lubricant dilution for a lubrication system includes detecting a low idle condition. The method includes receiving sensed values indicative of lubricant pressure and lubricant temperature during the low idle condition. The method also includes determining a lubricant pressure threshold based on the sensed value indicative of lubricant temperature. The method further includes determining lubricant dilution based on the sensed value indicative of lubricant pressure and the determined lubricant pressure threshold during the low idle condition. In accordance with a determination that there is lubricant dilution, the method includes outputting an indication of the lubricant dilution.
Method And Device For Determining The Engine Oil Quality Of An Internal Combustion Engine
The disclosure provides a method and a device for determining the engine oil quality of an internal combustion engine. The engine oil quality is determined by evaluation of the switching times of an oil pressure switch of the internal combustion engine after a starting operation of the internal combustion engine.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENGINE OIL DILUTION ANALYSIS
A system is presented for analyzing lubricant composition of a vehicle engine. The system includes the vehicle engine; sensors; a controller in communication with the sensors; and a lubrication sampling apparatus coupled to the controller and the engine's lubrication system. The sampling apparatus is configured to: transfer a first sample of the lubricant into a first sample container and a second sample of the lubricant a second sample container. The controller is configured to: receive first sensor readings over a time period of the first sample and second sensor readings over a time period of the second sample; receive a composition analysis of the first sample and a composition analysis of the second sample; and generate a report comprising: the first composition analyses, the first sensor readings, the second composition analysis, and the second sensor readings.
