FUEL FEED UNIT AND TWO-STROKE ENGINE HAVING A FUEL FEED UNIT

A fuel feed unit has a base body with an intake channel section, into which a fuel opening opens. A partition wall section divides the intake channel section into a mixture channel and an air channel. The wall section has a recess in which the throttle flap at least partially lies in an end position. The wall section has, upstream of the recess, a continuous surface facing the mixture channel and which has lateral sections adjacent to the channel wall and a middle section running between the lateral sections. The lateral sections have, upstream of the throttle flap, a separation edge for the flow. In the end position, the side of the throttle flap facing the mixture channel defines a reference plane which divides the unit into a first region and a second region. The lateral sections extend, at least directly upstream of the recess, into the second region.

Two-stroke engine

An engine (2) is a four-flow scavenging type engine. Four scavenging ports (34) include: first right and left scavenging ports (34(lef-1) and 34(ref-1)) that lie on a side relatively away from an exhaust port (22) and that lie facing each other with a cylinder (4) in between; and second right and left scavenging ports (34(lef-2) and 34(ref-2)) that lie closer to the exhaust port (22) than first right and left scavenging ports do and that lie facing each other with the cylinder (4) in between. The second left scavenging port and the first right scavenging port that make up a first mutually diagonal set (Diag-No. 1) have different opening timings from those of the first left scavenging port and the second right scavenging port that make up a second mutually diagonal set (Diag-No. 2).

An engine system includes main exhaust ports fluidly communicating with each combustion chamber. An exhaust variable valve lift apparatus controls an operation of a main exhaust valve which closes or opens each main exhaust port. A main exhaust manifold is connected with the main exhaust ports. Scavenge exhaust ports fluidly communicate with each combustion chamber. A variable scavenge apparatus controls an operation of a scavenge valve which closes and opens each scavenge exhaust port. A scavenge manifold is connected with the scavenge exhaust ports. A controller is configured to control operations of the exhaust variable valve lift apparatus and the variable scavenge apparatus according to a vehicle operation state.

SCHNUERLE SCAVENGING TWO-STROKE ENGINE

A Schnuerle scavenging two-stroke engine is provided that can keep combustion stability in a wide rotation speed range while suppressing blow-by. The engine of the present invention is a Schnuerle scavenging two-stroke engine (2). A scavenging passage (14(in1)) related to at least one scavenging port (16(in1)) has, at its upper end portion (14a(in1)), an intake-side wall surface (204). The intake-side wall surface (204) defines a first flow direction (42) of scavenging gas discharged from the scavenging port (16(in1)) at a height level of the scavenging port (16(in1)). The upper end portion (14a(in1)) of the scavenging passage (14(in1)) related to the scavenging port (16(in1)) has a guide portion (50) defining a second flow direction (44) of scavenging gas discharged from the scavenging port (16(in1)). The second flow direction (44) is deflected to the intake side from the first flow direction (42) at the height level of the scavenging port (16(in1)).
