The valve body is configured to, in a fully closed state, separate the bypass passage into an inlet-side passage having a communication port communicating with the scroll passage and an outlet-side passage communicating with the intake passage. An inlet-side passage wall surface which defines the inlet-side passage includes at least an upstream passage wall surface portion connected to an upstream end of the communication port in a cross-sectional view of the housing taken along an axis of the impeller. The upstream passage wall surface portion is configured such that an angle between the upstream passage wall surface portion and an upstream scroll wall surface of a scroll passage wall surface which defines the scroll passage connected to the upstream end is less than 90 degrees.

Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed for providing or maintaining a target surge margin at the compressor during steady state engine operating conditions and to avoid compressor surge during transients by controlling a compressor recirculation valve position to a commanded position. The estimated surge margin can be determined in response to the measured pressure ratio across the compressor, an estimated compressor flow, and a compressor map for the compressor.

Hydraulic system for baler implement gate

A hydraulic system for a rear gate of a baler implement includes a fluid circuit having a first portion connected to and disposed in fluid communication with a first fluid port of a hydraulic cylinder. A flow bypass assembly is disposed in the first portion of the fluid circuit. The flow bypass assembly includes a flow rate control valve selectively moveable between a first position allowing fluid communication therethrough at a first flow rate, and a second position blocking fluid communication therethrough. The flow bypass assembly further includes a bypass passageway for circulating the fluid when the flow rate control valve is closed. A flow restriction is disposed within the bypass passageway to provide a second flow rate that is less than the first flow rate.

Two-stage boost system for engines

A dual turbocharger system for an engine is provided. In one example, the dual turbocharger system may include two variable geometry turbines (VGTs), with each turbine being of the same size and operating in parallel, and with each compressor of the turbocharger operating in series, the first compressor of the first turbocharger being larger than the second compressor of the second turbocharger.

Vent insert

A vent insert is disclosed for use with an automotive turbocharger system. The vent has a substantially cylindrical hollow tube with a first end for seating the vent and a second open end. The first end has a rim around an opening. The second end of the vent has an angled opening that faces away from the direction of the gas flow when the vent insert is operating within the turbocharger system. There are a plurality of protrusions extending outward from the outside surface of the vent to assist in keeping the vent insert in place in the turbocharger system.

CONTROL UNIT FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE SYSTEM
20230160352 · 2023-05-25 · ·

A control unit configured to control an electric turbocharger and an EGR valve. While an internal combustion engine is stopped, an oxygen-free period, which is a period during which oxygen surrounding an exhaust gas purifier used for an oxidation reaction runs out, is estimated based on a temperature of the exhaust gas purifier. Before entering the oxygen-free period, the EGR valve is opened and the electric turbocharger is driven. Air surrounding the exhaust gas purifier is replaced with fresh air. After replacement with the fresh air has been completed, the electric turbocharger is stopped.
