The air filter comprises a first end cap configured to couple with a base which is configured to support a conventional air filter and provide an interface between the conventional air filter and the air inlet. A filter medium which is relatively thicker than the conventional air filter is configured to remove particulate matter and other contaminates from an incoming airstream. A second end cap is configured to couple with a cover which is configured to fasten the conventional air filter and the base onto the air inlet, such that the incoming airstream is directed through the filter medium. The air filter is configured to be installed in place of the conventional air filter without necessitating alteration of the base and cover.

An insertion bevel is formed on the frame wherein via the insertion bevel the front wall can be brought into an elastically deformed state during an insertion of the filter element into the receiving chamber. An inherently rigid component is mounted on the frame in an area of the front wall where the fastening element is formed integrally with the component and the component has the insertion bevel.

A media pack includes a filtration sheet and a support sheet that is made from a different material than the filtration sheet. The filtration sheet is coupled to the support sheet. The support sheet is corrugated such that, together, the filtration sheet and the support sheet form a plurality of channels. The channels are alternately sealed on opposing ends of the media pack. In one embodiment, the permeability of the support sheet is less than a permeability of the filtration sheet.

A casting shell assembly has top and bottom casting shell parts forming a casting chamber to mold a sealing device onto the end fold of the pleated bellows by a sealing material. The bottom casting shell part has a channel for receiving the sealing material. The channel has an upwardly projecting limitation element for engaging an inner side of the end fold.

An air filter system for a motor vehicle includes a common housing, first and second D-shaped filter elements and a common cover. The common housing defines a first airflow chamber extending between a first inlet duct and a first outlet duct and a second airflow chamber extending between a second inlet duct and a second outlet duct. The first airflow chamber is fluidly separated from the second airflow chamber. The first D-shaped filter element is disposed in the first airflow chamber for filtering air passing through the first airflow chamber. The second D-shaped filter element is disposed in the second airflow chamber for filtering air passing through the second airflow chamber. The common cover is secured to the housing and closes the first airflow chamber and the second airflow chamber.

A filter element having a longitudinal center axis for a fresh air system of an internal combustion engine may include a first plate filter body composed of a pleated filter material and a separate second plate filter body composed of a pleated filter material. The filter element may include first wall body and a second wall body, and a first end body and a second end body. The first wall body, the second wall body, the first end body and the second end body may be connected to the first plate body and the second plate filter body to define an inner space. At least one of the first plate filter body and the second plate filter body may include a curvature projecting to the interior space in a profile extending transversely to a longitudinal direction with respect to the longitudinal center axis.

According to the present disclosure, air cleaner assemblies, housings, serviceable filter cartridges and features, components, and methods, relating thereto are disclosed. In general, the features relate to systems that are configured to aid in inhibiting an improper cartridge from being installed in an air cleaner housing, during servicing. A variety of features are characterized, and in many examples, the cartridge includes a seal arrangement having radially directed seal surface with at least a first non-wavy or non-projection/recess section and a second wavy or projection/recess section. Examples are shown and described in detail.
