ABNORMALITY DETERMINATION DEVICE FOR VARIABLE GEOMETRY TURBOCHARGER
The present application relates to an abnormality determination device for a variable geometry turbocharger having a nozzle mechanism capable of changing a flow path area of exhaust gas with an actuator. The abnormality determination device includes: a first detection part configured to be capable of detecting at least one of a load of the actuator or supply energy to the actuator; and a determination part configured to determine that an abnormality is present, if a detection result by the first detection part is out of an allowable range corresponding to an operational state of the variable geometry turbocharger.
Dynamic Resonance System and Method for the Anti-Icing and De-Icing of Inlet Grids
In one embodiment, a system includes an inlet grid configured to reduce distortion of an incoming airflow. The system may also include a vibration device coupled to the inlet grid and a controller communicatively coupled to the vibration device. The controller may transmit a vibration signal to the vibration device causing the vibration device to vibrate the inlet grid such that the inlet grid resonates at a natural frequency inducing a mode shape in the inlet grid. The mode shape may break up and prevent ice on the inlet grid.
BLEED VALVE ASSEMBLIES
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed for a variable bleed valve assembly. An example variable bleed valve assembly a variable bleed valve (VBV) door corresponding to a bleed port and a first unison ring, the VBV door coupled to the first unison ring, the first unison ring to move in a circumferential direction between a first position and a second position causing the VBV door to move between the first position and the second position.
POOLED ARCHITECTURE FOR CONTROLLING ELECTROMECHANICAL ACTUATORS
In an electromechanical actuation chain for controlling the movement of mobile loads of an aircraft turbine engine, from a control unit, one or more of these mobile loads being actuated by an electromechanical actuator, there is provided for control of this movement a single Ethernet controller having deterministic control that uses an Ethernet bus to control a set of converters acting selectively on the electromechanical actuators.
Combustion staging system
A combustion staging system for fuel injectors of a multi-stage combustor of a gas turbine engine. The system includes plural fuel injectors, each having respective pilot and mains injection stages. It further includes a splitting unit which, to perform staging control of the combustor, receives a metered fuel flow and, for pilot and mains operation, controllably splits the received fuel flow into a pilot flow for injecting at the pilot stages of the injectors and a mains flow for injecting at the mains stages of the injectors, and for pilot-only operation, controllably splits the received fuel flow into a first part of the pilot flow for injecting at the pilot stages of a first portion of the injectors and a second part of the pilot flow for injecting at the pilot stages of a second portion of the injectors.
Centrifugal compressor
Provided is a centrifugal compressor, including: a movable member which is movable between a first position and a second position, the first position being a position at which an opening degree of an auxiliary flow passage arranged more on an outer diameter side than a main flow passage becomes a first opening degree, the second position being a position at which an opening degree of the auxiliary flow passage becomes a second opening degree smaller than the first opening degree; and a linear actuator configured to drive the movable member in a rotation axis direction of the impeller.
HYBRID ELECTRIC VARIABLE AREA TURBINE
A hybrid electric engine including a gas turbine engine including a low speed spool, a high speed spool a fan section, a compressor section, a combustor section, and a turbine section. The hybrid electric engine further includes an electric generator configured to convert rotational power of the high or low speed spool to electricity and a variable area turbine control system electrically connected to the electric generator. The variable area turbine control system being configured to adjust a cross-sectional area of a core flow path of the hybrid electric engine. The variable area turbine control system including a plurality of variable turbine vanes located in the turbine section and a variable area turbine actuator configured to rotate each of the plurality of variable turbine vanes to adjust the cross-sectional area of the core flow path of the hybrid electric engine. The variable area turbine actuator is an electromechanical actuator.
Gas turbine engine turning system
A gas turbine engine (10) includes a compressor section, a turbine section, and an accessory gearbox (100). A turning unit (200) for the gas turbine engine includes an output assembly (204) configured to be mechanically coupled to the gas turbine engine, and an electric motor (202). The electric motor is operable to rotate, through the output assembly, one or more components of the compressor section or the turbine section at a rotational speed less than about fifty revolutions per minute during a shut-down condition of the gas turbine engine.
Air conditioner
First and second towers may discharge air. An airflow guide or converter may change a direction of the air discharged from the first tower and the second tower by moving a gate inside and outside of at least one of the first or second towers so as to block discharged air flowing forward and selectively facilitate an upward air flow. The airflow converter may include a guide motor to provide a driving force, the gate, which may reciprocate between the inside and the outside of the first and/or second towers; and a board guider connected to the gate to transmit a driving force of the guide motor to the gate as a linear motion force.
Systems and method for use in servicing a machine
A system for use in servicing a machine. The system includes a tubular body including a longitudinal axis, a tip end, a dispensing nozzle defined at the tip end, and an interior channel in flow communication with the dispensing nozzle. The tubular body is configured to be flexible. An actuator is configured to selectively modify an orientation of the tubular body, and a reservoir is in flow communication with the interior channel. The reservoir is configured to supply a maintenance fluid to the tubular body for discharge from the dispensing nozzle.
