Attachment unit
An attachment unit for providing a mounting thread as an internal thread on a component, in particular on a thin-walled component, includes an attachment body that bears the mounting thread and is arranged on a first side of the component in a region of a recess extending through the component, and a holding element that is arranged on a second side of the component in the region of the recess extending through the component and disposed opposite to the attachment body so as to hold the attachment body on the first side of the component.
BLIND RIVET-NUT AND METHOD FOR SECURING A COMPONENT TO A CARRIER
A blind rivet-nut having an annular-flange-like setting head and a hollow shaft for securing a blind rivet-nut in an opening of a carrier. The hollow shaft has a free end having a threaded portion for receiving a threaded element of a tensioning tool. A clamping portion adjacent to the setting head forms a bead-like deformation when the tensioning tool is used to clamp the carrier between the bead-like deformation and the setting head. A threadless shaft portion is formed between the clamping portion and the threaded portion. The threadless shaft portion is threaded by a thread self-rolling or thread self-tapping fastener. The fastener is received in a positive-locking manner when the fastener is screwed into the thread formed on the previously threadless shaft portion. A method is also disclosed for securing a component to a carrier by a blind rivet-nut.
PLASTIC HOUSING DEVICE FOR AN INDIRECT SCREW CONNECTION FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
The present invention relates to a plastics housing device for indirect screw connection for a motor vehicle, wherein the plastics housing device comprises: at least one positioning element; a clamping element; and a screw element; wherein the at least one positioning element is configured to hold the clamping element in position in form-fitting fashion; wherein the screw element is configured to be pressed against the clamping element by the at least one positioning element and thereby cause a rotation of the clamping element; wherein the clamping element is configured to clamp the plastics housing device to a metal panel by way of the rotation.
CONNECTING DEVICE
A connecting device, in particular for connecting two components, includes a housing device, having an axial shaft portion delimiting a receiving space, and a radial flange portion having a screw through-passage terminating into the receiving space, wherein a face of the flange portion facing the shaft portion is a connecting wall, and a face of the shaft portion opposite the connecting wall is a fastening wall, wherein the axial shaft portion is adapted to be inserted into a through passage of a first component and a nut device is in particular axially displaceably and rotatably arranged in the receiving space, wherein the nut device can preferably only be inserted laterally into the receiving space.
DUCT TIE ROD AND METHOD
A tie rod for spanning a duct interior to join duct walls bounding the duct interior, that can be simply and inexpensively fabricated from sheet metal or other suitable material, including automatically, securely fastenable quickly and easily to the duct walls, often by one person, and which can be configured to be nestable for efficient storage and shipping, of elongate construction for spanning a duct interior, with a transverse attachment flange or flanges that can be pre-bent or bent onsite at the installation location via special bending features to snug to a duct wall, and include holes for threadedly receiving fasteners, having a shape and size to reduce fastening torque, with a two attachment flange configuration that resiliently self retains the fastener against loosening from vibration and other forces.
FASTENING MODULE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FASTENING MODULE, AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING TWO COMPONENTS TO A FASTENING MODULE
A fastening module, in particular for connecting two components, is provided. The module includes a housing device that defines a receiving space, a nut device that is arranged so as to be displaceable in the receiving space, and a screw device that is connected to the housing device in such a way that the fastening module is a pre-assembled module.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR RETAINING A FASTENER RECEIVER
Methods and apparatus for retaining a fastener receiver are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a retainer to retain a nut assembly adjacent an object. The retainer includes a first plate defining a first opening. The first plate is to couple to the object. The first opening is to receive a portion of the nut assembly when the retainer is coupled to the object. The retainer includes a second plate defining a second opening and including a first deflectable tab adjacent the second opening. The second plate is to couple to the first plate opposite the object. The deflectable tab of the second plate is to cover a portion of the first opening of the first plate. The first deflectable tab is to deflect to receive and retain the portion of the nut assembly in the first opening when the retainer is coupled to the object.
SYSTEM FOR REPAIRING A FASTENER EQUIPPING A REACTOR WALL
An attachment system intended to equip a wall (17), the system including a nut intended to receive a screw (31) of which the orientation is normal to the wall (17), the screw (31) passing through an element such as an outer panel (32) in order to attach the element to the wall (17). The attachment system comprises a socket (26) having a threaded cylindrical outer face (34) intended to be screwed into a hole (29) passing through the wall (17) and having dimensions greater than the dimensions of the fastener that the repair socket (26) replaces, the socket (26) carrying, in the central region of same, a nut (28) receiving the attachment screw (32).
Panel-insert assembly
A panel-insert assembly including a panel and an insert, wherein the panel includes a core and a face sheet positioned over the core, wherein the face sheet defines an opening therein, and wherein the insert is positioned below the face sheet and includes a thread member engaged with the panel, the thread member extending in a first circumferential direction about the vertical axis.
Twist-in-place grommet connection assembly
A connection assembly adapted for receipt of a male connection member at the interior of a grommet. The connection assembly includes a grommet of hollow construction including a first collar and a second non-circular collar disposed in spaced-apart relation from the first collar. An axial bore extends entirely through the grommet. A sleeve insert including a hollow stem extends into the axial bore so as to at least partially line the axial bore. A complementary retaining panel includes a substantially non-circular access opening adapted to receive the second collar in pass-through relation and to block the first collar against insertion. Upon rotation, the grommet is blocked against withdrawal through the access opening and the retaining panel is held securely in place.
