CAGE SEGMENT FOR A ROLLING-ELEMENT BEARING CAGE
A cage segment defines a single pocket of a multipart rolling-element bearing cage and includes first and second circumferentially spaced side walls connected by first and second end walls. The first and second side walls and the first and second end walls are formed by at least one sheet metal segment connected at at least one joint.
Bearing
A bearing including a base, a plurality of slots, and a plurality of rollers disposed in the plurality of slots. At least one of the plurality of slots may be configured to retain a first roller and a second roller of the plurality of rollers at different skewing angles. Methods for manufacturing bearings are also described. In an embodiment, a method of manufacturing a bearing includes providing a first plurality of base layers. The first plurality of base layers may include portions of a plurality of slots and portions of a plurality of cooling channels. The method may include inserting a roller in at least one of the portions of the plurality of slots and providing a second plurality of base layers.
THRUST ROLLER BEARING CAGE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A thrust roller bearing cage (11) of the present invention is included in a thrust roller bearing (20) and includes a plurality of pockets (21) accommodating rollers (13). The thrust roller bearing cage (11) includes: a radially outer area bent portion (41) formed by bending an area located radially outside the pockets (21) inward in a radial direction; and projecting portions (44) that are formed in a tip end of the radially outer area bent portion (41) and project inward in the radial direction so as to contact end faces (16) of the rollers (13) accommodated in the pockets. Radially outer edges (21a) of the pockets (21) are located radially outside base end parts (44a) of the projecting portions (44).
Rolling bearing retainer and method for manufacturing such retainer
A rolling bearing retainer which is formed by insert molding a resinous material together with a core member within a mold, in which the core member is embedded within a resin part made of the resinous material and a support area exposure part is provided at a plurality of locations of the resin part for exposing a support area of the core member supported within a cavity of the mold. The resin part includes a ring shaped body and a plurality of support column bodies extending axially from the ring shaped body and defining a pocket for retaining a rolling element therebetween, and the core member is provided with a ring shaped body embedded part and a plurality of support column body embedded parts extending from the ring shaped body embedded part.
Bearing cage segment including at least one recess for facilitated bending
A sheet-metal bearing cage segment has a first ring section, at least one second ring section and a plurality of bridges connecting the first ring section and the at least one second ring section to each other such that a pocket for receiving at least one rolling element is formed between each circumferentially adjacent pair of the bridges. The first and/or second ring section includes at least one recess on the radially inner side and/or the radially outer side.
METHOD OF FORMING A BEARING CAGE SEGMENT INCLUDING A JOINT EDGE FOR WELDING
A method of forming a bearing cage segment includes determining a path of a periphery of the bearing cage segment along a metal sheet, punching a plurality of openings in the metal sheet inside the path to form a plurality of pockets separated by a plurality of bridges and separating the bearing cage segment from the metal sheet at the path. The separating includes laser cutting first and second joint edges at a first end of the row and third and fourth joint edges at a second end of the row, where the first joint edge is spaced from the second joint edge in a length direction of the bridges and the third joint edge is spaced from the fourth joint edge in the length direction of the bridges.
Two-piece roller retainer cage for a roller thrust bearing
A roller retainer cage for a roller thrust bearing, including a first cage half with an annular portion, a first flange extending axially from an inner peripheral edge of the annular portion and a second flange extending axially from an outer peripheral edge of the annular portion, a second cage half including an annular portion, a first flange extending axially from an inner peripheral edge of the annular portion and a second flange extending axially from an outer peripheral edge of the annular portion, wherein the first flange of the first cage half is disposed radially-outwardly of the first flange of the second cage half, the second flange of the first cage half is disposed radially-inwardly of the second flange of the second cage half, and the first cage half is comprised of a through-hardened metal.
EXPANDABLE STACKED THRUST BEARING ASSEMBLY
A double row axial roller bearing assembly includes a compressible ring between the two rows. This compressible ring prevents excessive axial forces if the respective shafts impact one another after becoming axially separated. One embodiment is fully unitized such that all parts of the bearing assembly remain with one of the two shafts if the shafts become axially separated. Another embodiment is semi-unitized such that one row of rollers and the compressible ring remain with one of the shafts while the other row of rollers remains with the other shaft. In both cases, all bearing components are prevented from falling out of position such that they return to their proper axial and radial position when the shafts come back together.
